Weaving Our Business
Many years of my life were spent on indecisive thoughts surrounding what I wanted to do or dreaming of where I saw myself in 10 years. Only recently did one of those back and forth conversations with myself turn on a light above my head. For months now I’ve been working on macrame projects for my home, not really connecting the fact I could make a profit from the works of art I’d grown to love to create! Macrame to me was an escape at the end of each day, a way to let my hands do the talking so my brain could rest. Each night I loved to turn on my favorite movie and weave away, it was like therapy, a reset button for my body. Every time I sat down with myself to have one of those “What if-” conversations my first thought would go to my daughter. At the moment I am fortunate to be in the position to be a stay at home mother however the natural ‘go getter’ in me is flustered by not contributing financially to my family. Not everyone can count on finding themselves a family sustaining job online, so one day I told myself “I’m going to create my dream job.” And this business is just that, the beginning to my solution. I’m dedicated to not only myself to work for a profit, but I strive to make a desirable product. Each and every one of the finished products I create is something I would want in my own home. My goal is to design minimalistic and applicable decor for every walk of life. Decor for the home is hard to come by cheap, so not only do I vow stunning products, but also those that are affordable and earth friendly. I live a plant based life and have another dream to take care of this Earth. Our rope is ordered from an Earth friendly business and our drift wood is picked up locally off the beaches of Guam; our metal hoops are purchased and recycled from a shop also with a similar mission to mine. I love what I do, but I love it even more knowing I’m helping decorate the lives of others in more ways than one.
