About

Maintaining the wonderful tradition of weaving by hand.

Weaving has been part of my family history for generations. I remember my grandfather talking to me about his grandfather and how he learnt the magic of weaving by hand. These skills were handed down to my father who then passed them on to me. I grew up in a world surrounded by the soft sounds of the shuttle moving from one side of the loom to the other and the clacking of the beater. And the long converstations my father would have with his assistants as they prepared the warp, a laborious process that often took most of the day, while my brothers and I would play in the mounds of soft wool that laid everywhere in the workshop.
I now have my own workshop in Marrakech. With my four assistants we weave blankets using the best materials available in the local markets. And we are proud to be the only weavers that still use organic wool that has been sheared from live sheep and hand spun by Berber woman in their own homes. It is becoming increasingly difficult to source hand spun wool, as this is a dying tradition here in Morocco. But there is no doubt that using this type of wool makes for a far superior blanket, softer, longer lasting and more respectful to the environment than any other blanket produced in Morocco.

When in Morocco, come and visit us....we would love to show you around!
