Announcement   Our shop acts as a non-profit portal between women weavers in rural Morocco and consumers interested in purchasing their exquisite and unique textiles.
Our products are shipped from Morocco.
For Shipping from Morocco to United States, there is free taxes.

Our prices depend on so many factors, including such variables such as quality of materials , the skill of the weavers - the more knots per centimetre the tighter (and therefore the durability) of the carpet, the designs (traditional Berber, often having family motifs included into the warp and weft, or Arab), the local communities - sometimes combining their skills as village cooperatives in the High Atlas, the dyes used (natural, such as rose, saffron, marigold and indigo amongst many others!) and of course size. Embroidered panels, sequined embellishments, hand sewn fabric decorations and so on!

Carpets are subjective purchases and need to be treated as such. Think of them as like buying a car - various prices ranges and styles to suit everyone.

There are approximately 45 Moroccan tribal groups that make rugs, and each tribal group has its own distinctive design and weaving styles. So there are vintage Moroccan Berber Rug that were made years and years ago – these are beautiful, but understandably pricey as many vintage things are. But you can also get newer Moroccan Rugs, made by the Berber women today living in the tribes of the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This doesn’t mean they are fake – they are just not vintage. Newer Moroccan rugs can be extremely good value, really lovely and excellent quality.

The textures and weaving materials of the rugs vary by region and climate; and can feature high pile, loosely knotted wool weaves in colder climates, or low pile, tightly knotted cotton or love wool ( this kind of texture is handmade by cotton but It looks like wool) weaves in warmer climates. And for the price, rugs that are made from 100% SHEEP WOOL are more expensive than the others, because wool is prized for its durability and softness, also It's strong, excellent insulating properties and cozy underfoot.

About

Virtual Cooperative

My mother was born in a village near to Marrakech . The woman of this tribe are known by weaving on moroccan wooden looms. First time , they ask me to translate to french and English to people how want to buy a piece, to ask about the process of weaving or to know about the story of the vintage pieces ( because in Morocco each family's bride has to weave the moroccan wedding blankets Handiras and the Beni Ourain Rugs before the wedding party, so every old women preserves her blankets and rugs, and these pieces are now becoming vintage and antique) .Also Moroccan carpets are prized for their beauty and can fetch hundreds of dollars in stores. But little of that money ends up in the hands of the women who spend months weaving the carpets. I was selling fashion items on online platforms , then I got the idea of helping these women ; the real owner of this treasure ;by presenting and selling their items online. That's why I created a virtual women's cooperative.
