Mouse to Minx - manners and knickers: never leave home without them
Mouse to Minx was conceived in early 2004, when an idea began to form to bring together all the things I had been curious about since childhood, and connect those to the things I had learned as an adult about marketing, design and storytelling.
There have been many stories since that year, including creating an award-winning website, opening an ahead-of-the-curve retail experience, exploiting social-commerce before it was named as such and starting a raft of trends. But then there is also the story about the 2008 recession, the wicked bank and the homeless business woman.
But like a phoenix from the flames, we gradually found our feet again and set off on our "Quaint Britain" adventure to entertain the world with our mix of stories, comment, characters, clothes and home-wares inspired by memories and girls' adventure stories.
All this is fused together in a view of the world seen through the eyes of Daphne, Doris and Dulcie who are the real masterminds behind the brand.
We hope you enjoy your time with us.

Shop policies
When Mouse to Minx opened its first shop in September 2005 in a triumphant blaze of fairy cakes and nostalgic sweets, it immediately set itself apart.
Launched in a small but perfectly formed concession store it quickly made its mark in Bristol, UK as a delightfully “English Eccentric” retail experience: run, managed and ‘narrated’ by three chums straight out of a girls’ school adventure storybook.
With a traditional tea shop interior, the original fashion, accessories, jewellery and items for the home included, in the early days, a fine collection of vintage china, books and dresses: the treasured collection of the brand’s creator Paula Daly (The Management).
Mouse to Minx moved to a quaint cottage boutique in 2006 (complete with oak beams and resident cat), where it extended its range to include products from smaller design companies and individuals, all of which had not been seen in its home city of Bristol up to that point. Mouse to Minx delighted in continuing to receive high praise from its visitors, customers, local, regional and national press.
Since retailing online (from 2007) Mouse to Minx has, (thanks to Dulcie’s Plan For World Domination) grown its membership to include fans from some very exotic places, justifying Daphne’s humble assertion that it is now a global micro-brand.
We had to close our shop in 2008 due to the catastrophic impact of the recession and began the re-incarnation in 2012. This included moving onto Etsy and being the first designer to be awarded a design licence for the vintage comic brand Bunty (owned by publisher DC Thomson). We had the pleasure of digitally restorint original 1960s illustrations and creating a range of products sold over two years until the licence expired.
Welcome to the next chapter in the Mouse to Minx adventure.
