Announcement   So excited to announce that our children's picture book 'Nip Nebs' - Jack Frost, is now for sale. It is a winter tale of all the magic adventures that Jack frost gets up to.

Ootby in the shaddies of the pale moonlicht….. so begins a glittering tale in Scots of the magic of Jack Frost as he weaves his way across a winter landscape as the moon shines bright.

This story celebrates the lyricism of the Scots language but also features a translation into English making the story accessible to Scots and non Scots speakers.

This is so beautiful and so nicely done. It also came with little "treats" of other lovely drawings and a nice bookmark! This was the baptism blessing said for our daughter, and I thought it fitting to give her this lovely piece as she heads off to college!

Beautiful presentation and prompt delivery. I usually call Celtic knots forever knots because they have the look that they cannot be undone. I thought one of the cards was perfect for a husband and wife who are going to renew their wedding vows. Both cards are most artistic and nicely printed. No doubt they will make an impression. Thank you, Ruthie. You are very talented.

About

New beginnings . . .

In 1993 a move to the beautiful wilds of Scotland changed my life forever, in so many ways. I began to paint the things that spoke to my heart, the stories I love; stories of folklore & faerietales, myth & magic, the stories Mother Nature has to tell, the stories of our heritage.

In 2011 i set up my “Mythweaver” Etsy store so called because I weave myths & stories into my paintings.

As a pictorial story teller, I use elements of symbology in my work, so that it carries a story buried beneath the surface for the viewer to unfurl. Our lives are enriched by symbols in the written & spoken word, images, & gestures; they can move us, inspire us, inform us and puzzle us; in faerie stories, with their hidden morals & warning, in the symbolic nature of our dreams.

I spend my time striving to create work that makes my heart sing. My hope is that you may experience even a little of the pleasure from my work as i felt when creating it.
