About NashiraJewellery

Sales 25
On Etsy since 2014

Sterling silver jewellery handcrafted in Dorset & inspired by the Jurassic Coast.

I have always loved jewellery, especially rings.

I have been making jewellery for over eleven years now and absolutely love it. At first it started as a hobby using gemstone beads but now I love to use my silversmithing skills to make jewellery from sterling silver, adding gemstones and locally collected seaglass from time to time. Using my rolling mill is my favourite technique.

The rolling mill technique is where sheet silver is passed through the mill with textured paper to give a pattern “engraved” on the precious metal. The effects are fantastic!

I have a little workshop at home where I spend as much time as I can. It’s my happy place. The hours whizz by and at the end of the day I don’t want to leave my little space.

Most pieces will be a one off as with all handmade items, you can never re-create something identical. Having said that I can recreate some items such as the bangles as they have less detail on them.

Some items are made to order, they currently have a turn around of approximately 3-4 weeks for hallmarked items, due to the Covid-19 restrictions - the London Assay Office is remaining opening during the current 2021 lockdown but with reduced hours.

For items requiring only a 925 stamp, the processing time will be 1-2 weeks.

Each listing will detail expected processing time. Please note these are only processing times, delivery time after despatch will depend on current Royal Mail delays.

Items already made and in stock will be despatched within 1 business day.

Delivery is within the UK only.

All items will be hallmarked and stamped with my personal makers mark by the London Assay Office where required legally. Any items over 7.78g need to be tested and hallmarked. All items below this weight can be hand-stamped ‘925’ by me.

So watch this space as I continue to create and fill my shop again...creating at home with my Dobermann puppy Rosie by my side.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders

I have a selection of made to order items such as my bangles and the wave necklace.

The bangles will need testing and hallmarking at the Assay Office therefore will take approximately 4-5 weeks processing time.

The wave necklace for example only needs a 925 stamp which can be hand-stamped by myself. This is due to the fact that it weighs less than 7.78g which is the legal weight requirement.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All my items are presented in a suitably sized Kraft gift box. Then I pop this inside a linen gift bag.

All jewellery items are sent inside a Jiffy bag via Royal Mail Special Delivery (guaranteed next working day by 4pm).

Seaglass

Each piece of sea glass I use is authentic, genuine sea glass - most of which has been personally collected by me from the beaches near my home in Dorset

Sea glass is broadly defined as glass which has been discarded into the oceans or on beaches, thereafter spending many decades being gently tumbled by the waves. This gives it the characteristic smooth edges and beautiful frosted appearance which defines it

The quality and colour of each piece determines its rarity and subsequent value, and this will be described in the sale listing and if relevant reflected in the price. I will always try to show the colour as accurately as possible in images

All glass is carefully washed and checked for any sharp or rough edges prior to being used

What materials do I use?

I mainly work with 925 sterling silver but I’m hoping to incorporate some yellow gold into my jewellery

In addition to sterling silver, I use a variety of other components and beads including cultured pearls, Swarovski Crystals and Gemstones

The quality and value of all semi-precious stones can vary greatly, and this will be reflected in the price on each piece

All silver components are bought within the UK from a well-known reputable company

Beads, crystals and gemstones are sourced as local to me as possible but sometimes the gemstones come from further afield

One of a kind?

Every item I make is handcrafted by me to my own designs. Due to the nature of the materials and techniques used, most pieces are unique and 'one of a kind', especially when featuring sea glass or other natural materials

The plain bangles can be repeated fairly easily, however any texture added to them such as hammering will always be slightly different due to the nature of the texture.
