Once upon a time there was a little girl who loved to dress up in hats... She had a wide brimmed straw hat that she wore on sunny days, a floppy black velvet hat with roses on for everyday, and a large collection of different woolly bobble hats for the cold Scottish winter (and sometimes summer) weather. But her favourite hats were those found in her dressing up box... a red velvet pillbox with sumptuous amounts of feathers and veiling, a little black cocktail hat topped with a black satin bow and a wedding veil made from the softest ivory tulle fabric with gold stitching and pearls...

This little girl grew up, and as she did, her love of hats grew too. The one day when she couldn't find a hat she wanted for an event she decided to try her hand at making one herself... and Off With Her Head Millinery was born.

Off With Her Head Millinery by Lisa Jones was established as a business in May 2009. From that day on the business has been constantly evolving. Lisa is always learning, challenging herself to develop new skills and create new and interesting designs. Lisa has a love for eye-catching, vintage inspired hats, fascinators and hair accessories that reflect your unique personality to showcase your individual sense of style. Specialising in creating bespoke headwear for special occasions; from Mother of the Bride/Groom and Wedding Guests, to a day out at the Races, Garden Parties and more, Lisa's designs have been worn at Royal Ascot, Perth and Cheltenham Races, at Weddings across the UK, as well as on stage and television. Lisa has a passion for alternative bridal wear; working with Brides to create unique pieces to help you realise your amazing, alternative wedding day.

Lisa's designs have been featured in The Burlesque Bible, Alt Fashion Magazine, Coveted, and Devolution Magazine and she has written several articles on Millinery in Film and TV for Vintage Life Magazine.

In 2012 Lisa created the beautiful Union Jack inspired crown headpiece worn by singer Misha B for the X Factor Live Tours.

In 2013 her "Turning Japanese" collection, inspired by classical Japanese Art Styles debuted at the Nightwalk Fashion Show, in The Arches, Glasgow.

Since 2014 Lisa's beautiful, hand crafted hair flowers have been featured in the CBS crime drama "Criminal Minds" being worn regularly by Penelope Garcia (portrayed by Kirsten Vangsness).

Lisa is a member of the British Millnery Association and the Creative Business Association, as well as the KE Millinery & Business Academy, where in 2023 she completed her VIP Qualification with Katherine Elizabeth of Katherine Elizabeth Millinery. Lisa has also recently undertaken online masterclasses with Jenny Roberts and Anel Heyman.

In 2023 Lisa was nominated for and won the SME News Scottish Enterprise Awards 2023 "Bespoke Milliner of the Year 2023".
