Join the traditional shaving movement with old school soap, brush and safety razor! Foam and disposable razors are dying out and clearing the way for the better alternative: eco-friendly, skin-friendly shaving soap. Once you have tried wetshaving the new-school way you'll never touch foam or disposable razors again.

Oatcake is a natural and palm-free tallow based shaving soap including homemade organic oat milk for a nourishing and irritation-free shave. Handmade in small batches, each soap is carefully crafted. Each tub of soap lasts around 100 shaves which is about 3x the amount you can get from a can of foam/gel.

Other skin loving ingredients include copious amounts of Cocoa and Shea butter for a thick, protective lather while Aloe Vera, Oat kernel oil and Lanolin aid for a silky soft post-shave feel. Oatcake shave soap will be your most comfortable shave yet.

People have tested Oatcake with very irritable skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema and just very dry skin - they have all been very pleased with the results, with no irritation whatsoever due to the soap's natural, protective barrier from the oat lipids.

Comes in recyclable aluminium tins with plastic free packaging.

You will need a shaving brush. First wet the brush then shake out the excess water. Start loading up by swirling the damp brush slowly on the soap for around 20 seconds. Then proceed to wet face or legs and begin lathering up the soap on skin. You will need to add water to the brush during the lathering process gradually. Once you have reached a whipped cream like consistency you are ready to shave.
Alternatively, you can lather up in a bowl or the palm of your hand and build the lather up that way first.

"I never used to kiss Barry's face because it's all hard and stubbly, but since he's been using Ed's soap his face is lovely and soft" - Ruth from Manchester

From ThrillOfTheShave on Instagram:
"So this SOTD was mostly about the soap, just received it today after ordering it on their release day.
First things first, taking it out the mail parcel, the label looks great, not too busy and a awesome design.
I would say the soap has a medium firmness, can definitely push it down but it takes a small bit of force.
Smelling it out the tub, I get the nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon, quite reminded me of T&S Maya, but a bit less sharp and a bit more creamy (presumably the oats milk). The scent out the tin was a pleasant one whilst also not a type of scent I would rush for. More on the scent later.

Lathered with a synthetic to give it a good shot to give me a good lather right off the bat, it certainly didn't disappoint. About 10 seconds lathering in the tin was more than enough and a touch of water produced a thick creamy lather.
With the soap lathered and on the face, the creaminess really comes out of this soap and smells absolutely fantastic - like something you would want to eat! (Don't! 😁) Great cushion from the soap, super slick and fantastic post-shave - very soft despite all the soap remnants being washed off.
Certainly one of the most comfortable shaves I have had.
You could tell this is a soap that has been worked on hard and a recipe that has been refined to get the excellent finished product. This soap is absolutely up there with some of the best and most established soaps out there - that's how impressed I was with this soap, all things going well with Oatcake Shaving Soap, you will hear a lot more of them.
Cheers 👍😎💈"
