Where old prosthetic limbs are given a new life! Aiming to reduce waste and bring joy. Half of all profits go to Legs 4 Africa.

Hello! My name is Louise.
I am a full time Prosthetist, and part time creator living in Essex.

I started Odd Limb Art as a way to create something out of all the waste that comes out of making limbs for people. Children outgrow sockets, parts become obsolete and need replacing, patients move on to different systems- there are all sorts of reason, and I want to capture those journeys in to everything I make.

Half of all profits go to Legs 4 Africa, who take old and discarded limbs and use them for patients in the developing world who won't normally have access to a prosthetic limb.
Sockets are the only part that cannot be reused, as they are completely custom for each patient.

Each piece is unique, and has been previously used for varying amounts of time, which I will add to the description of each product. Because of the uniqueness of each piece, some things are difficult to replicate, but my most common pieces are:

Pots, vases, and tea light holders- made out of below knee and above knee sockets, depending on size and whether or not they have holes.

Trinket bowls, and ornaments- made out of diagnostic sockets, which are a clear plastic (and very easy to mould)

Candle stick holders- these are old components that were once clamped on to sockets, and the system is now becoming obsolete.
