About OdesiaMayJewellery

Sales 424
On Etsy since 2013

I'm obsessed with designing and making things, old and shiny objects !

Given my obsessions it seemed a natural decision to show off my handmade items and offer them on to others who would also appreciate them !

Ever since I was little when I used to collect all the fallen sequins from the ballroom dancers' dresses at dance competitions, I have been drawn to colourful and shiny objects ! Later on, the vintage obsession also became clear (maybe from having much older parents than most ?).

Odesia May was my Mum (who died at age 99 in 2019) who got me involved in dancing and whose name was invented by my American grandfather ! It felt right to use it for my venture into selling my handmade vintage style jewellery as my favourite period is the Art Deco period when she would have been growing up.

All my designs are original and unique since I seldom make a piece more than once in any colourway or with the same materials. I love creating wedding and custom jewellery designs for that personal touch. Sometimes I incorporate genuine vintage pieces into the jewellery and I always use the best materials I can find.

My passion is for Swarovski crystal/pearl elements, wirework and sewn beadwork.

I've been making jewellery, artwork and textiles for about 12 years now and wedding accessories with wirework have occupied me for about 4 years.

Hope you love my creations and enjoy looking !

Returns and exchange details
I will refund fully (including postage) for non-receipt of items within reasonable time period after postage date i.e. 28 business days in EU and 42 business days outside EU.

You have the right to change your mind and cancel the order before or after postage providing this is requested at the latest 24 hours after the order. A full refund (excluding postage cost) will be issued after receipt of the returned item in a satisfactory condition (where already posted) providing the returned item is marked as a 'return' and incurs no customs/tax fees to myself on receipt (if fees are incurred they will be deducted from your refund).

Refunds are not available on custom orders (contact me for consideration), where an incorrect delivery address has been supplied or an order has not been collected from postal/delivery depots. Where a refund is approved for a custom order, a shop credit note/voucher may be issued unless a suitable alternative order is placed.

Depending on your method of payment, you may have a longer period for return (according to the payment company terms and conditions), so it is always best to check their policies (which can change over time) before purchase. In any event please let me know of any problems as soon as possible.

Unsuitable items will be dealt with on a case by case basis (assuming item has not been worn/used/damaged) but the same rules apply as for cancellation. Unsuitable relates to size and/or colour being unsuitable. Postage will not normally be refunded until the item is returned in a satisfactory condition or a suitable alternative order is placed. Some items can be amended/remade to specific or changed requirements on agreement with buyer and seller (this may incur a small charge and additional return postage costs).

Faulty or broken items on receipt will be refunded (including postage) after receipt of the returned item and its parts. Repair can be done free where possible and acceptable to the customer. Photographic evidence will normally be required.

Should any item break within 6 months of purchase (under normal use and correct care - see Additional Information) it will either be repaired or refunded (after return) on a case by case basis. Items which break after 6 months (under normal use and correct care) may be repaired free or for a small fee on a case by case basis and with the agreement of both buyer and seller.

Basically just keep me in the loop and I'm happy to try and resolve any situations satisfactorily for everyone concerned. I am a fair person.

In the unlikely event of legal disputes, please note any action brought is subject to UK laws in force.
I do not charge UK VAT in my prices. Etsy automatically collects VAT in respect of orders from EU countries and Sales Tax in respect of orders from Australia and some US states and remits it directly to the respective government tax authorities as regulated by law. If you have any queries regarding this then please contact Etsy directly.

Please check whether any additional import duties, fees and taxes are payable by you on delivery and ensure this is acceptable to you before purchase since these will be your responsibility to pay.

If you decide to change your mind and cancel your order after postage and within 14 days after receipt then please let me know and after receipt of the returned item in good and unused condition, I will refund your initial order payment and postage cost.
I aim to post items out within 2 business days of payment clearing (except custom/made to order items). Generally I will post out within 1 day. I do not post on weekends as there is no collection.

All items are posted from the UK by first class post unless upgrade selected at checkout, or by international air mail delivery. All orders are put in a gift box with tissue paper and generally bubble wrap envelope. Approx. £ 0.75p to £1.75 (depending on size/value of order) is incorporated in prices to cover packaging costs. Large or expensive bridal/wedding items are sent tracked or guaranteed next day delivery in all cases.

Postage costs quoted are based on weight/size of parcel and include a small amount to cover the current 6% fee Etsy charges me on those postage costs but are only an estimate (especially for additional items) so I always aim to refund any overpayment of postage. The price quoted is the maximum you will pay. I do not increase my prices in order to appear to offer 'free' shipping.

I am happy to upgrade postage where this is possible at additional cost to the buyer. I will quote additional costs prior to agreement to upgrade.

Customers are responsible for payment of any and all international customs charges, taxes and fees levied.
