Announcement    Of Land & Sea is the home of delicate, enchanting jewellery, handcrafted by me (Becky) in small batches from my cozy, riverside workshop in Cornwall. Each piece of jewellery is made slowly with recycled sterling silver, brass guillotine off-cuts and fair-trade gold on request. I collect seaglass and treasures from Cornish shores and curiosities such as acorns and leaves on my walks in nature.

'Of Land & Sea' jewellery is inspired by nature, life and mythical folklore in the Southwest of England, each giftable treasure is entangled with stories, connecting the wearer to nature. My workshop runs on renewable energy and where ever possible, Of Land and Sea Jewellery is made using ethical and sustainable materials. This includes using recycled sterling silver, elements of brass as well as reclaimed gemstones, or gathered seaglass. This extends to all jewellery findings including earring scrolls and necklace chains. A perfect gift for those who seek little moments of magic and ritual in the everyday, whilst treading lightly on earth.

Care instructions

Tarnishing is the process of oxidisation of metal, it starts to happen over time when your pieces come into contact with chemicals like sulphur, ammonia and natural oils in your skin, then left exposed to oxygen, this discolouration only happens to the surface and there are many tricks you can use to remove this or stop it from happening altogether.

Your natural skin oils will clean jewellery, however these same oils can tarnish if left unworn for long periods of time. You should also avoid household chemicals such as chlorine, sulphur, phosphates, ammonia and rubber, perfume, skin lotions, hair spray.

Natural cleaners for tarnish include using baking soda and a damp cloth, vinegar in hot water, washing up liquid or polishing cloths.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Each and every piece will arrive ready for gift giving, whether it be a gift just for you, or for a loved one.

Every order is wrapped beautifully with recycled tissue paper, adorned with a foraged sprig or wildflower. Orders over £15 will recieve a branded 'Of Land and Sea' fair-trade cotton gift pouch to keep your jewellery safe in-between wear!

If I am shipping directly to the recipient, and you would like me to include a handwritten message, please leave me a note at the checkout with your message.

Please note, I don't post paper receipts with my orders. Your receipt will be emailed to you immediately after purchase.

When will my order ship?

I make and ship each piece of jewelry as soon as possible, usually within 1-3 days after receiving an order. In busy times, like Christmas it may take up to 5 days to make 'made to order' items before shipping. I will do my best so you get the package on time!

You can always contact me directly with any questions or concerns about when a piece may arrive, I'm always happy to try and deliver to your requests.

All items are shipped with First Class Royal Mail (Signed For) as standard within the UK. There are options to upgrade the delivery to Special Delivery (1-2 days) on each item as well! You can choose the shipping method at checkout. All international items are posted with tracked and signed for delivery.

Sizing details

Necklaces - For the best fit, please measure a "perfect length" necklace you already own, or use a piece of string cut to length.
Average necklace length is 18 inches or 50cm.

Bracelets - Measure your wrist tightly, then add 1/2 inch for the best fit. Average bracelet length is 7 inches or 18cm.

Rings - I always recommend getting your ring measurements taken directly from a jeweller as 'made to order' rings are considered custom orders. Rings with stone settings are not possible to resize without remaking the ring from scratch, so it's not worth the risk in guessing! You can also order ring sizers online to find this information out yourself. Simple silver band rings however can be easily resized.

Materials used

~ Recycled Sterling Silver - sterling silver is 92.5% pure instead of 100% pure in order to achieve the required hardness and stability to resist everyday wear and tear, and hold its shape. I use recycled sterling silver which is melted down silver sourced from old jewellery, medical supplies and technology. It is a highly recyclable and sustainable material. I also melt down and recycle silver myself using a furnace. If you have some scrap silver or old jewellery you would like transformed into something new then please get in touch!

~ Brass - can be recycled many times over without diminishing the composition, which means that the recycling process can continue time and again, thus making the metal highly sustainable.
