Frequently asked questions

Can I make further copies from the prints I buy?

All the images I sell are public domain or otherwise out of copyright. However most incorporate significant work by me to restore and prepare them for printing. When you buy from me therefore you are only buying the physical print without any rights to further reproduction. If you want to use the images in other ways, for example in leaflets or promotional material, please contact me first.

Wholesale availability

You can resell the prints in the shop, including in a retail setting. However if you want to do this on any significant scale, it would be in your interest to contact me first, since I am happy to offer discounts on bulk orders.

Can I display the prints I buy in restaurants, hotels or similar locations?

You are at liberty to display prints from the shop in any location or venue. As with wholesale availability, if you want to do this on any significant scale, please get in touch and I will work with you to identify suitable images. I am happy to offer discounts on bulk orders.

Custom and personalised orders

Almost all the items in the shop are available in other sizes - just ask. I provide mounts sized to fit standard frames in either inches or cm. If you want a different mount size, again just ask.

I can also provide mounts with multiple images. I have some examples in the shop but any combination is possible - if it can be shipped I can make it.

Finally, if you have a particular image in mind, I have hundreds if not thousands waiting to be listed and acess to many other collections, so pleae let me know what you are looking for.

Do your prices include VAT or equivalent sales taxes?

No. This business has a turnover that falls below the threshold required for registering for VAT in the UK. That doesn't mean however that these taxes are not applicable when shipping to another country. If you are purchasing from a country outside the EU that has its own sales tax, you may be charged these taxes before the package can be delivered. The level at which sales taxes kick in will vary from country to country. Any such charges for customs clearance/import duty are the customers responsibility.

So long as the UK remains in the EU no VAT is due on sales from this shop within the EU.

All shipments outside the EU are accompanied by a CN22 customs clearance form showing the full value of the goods (excluding shipping costs)

Why don't you offer Free Shipping?

There is of course no such thing as free shipping. I could include the costs to me in the listed price, but many of my customers buy more than one item so would end up in the end paying more since I would no longer be able to refund any overpayment. I think it is fairer to you my customers not to bundle shipping costs into the price you pay.

I do not take a profit on shipping. The price you pay is the cost to me plus a flat charge for packaging materials, etc. This is currently around £2.00. I refund everything you pay above that unless the amount due is trivial.
