About

The Patchwork Sheep are a flock of over 50 sheep. The flock is made up of many different breeds and crossbreeds. Some were born and bred here others were carefully purchased and others were just in need of somewhere to call home and found themselves here. They live on the beautiful Llyn Peninsular in North West Wales at our smallholding with beautiful views overlooking Cardigan Bay and the Snowdonia Mountains in the distance. They are cared for and loved by myself - Lucy - my husband and our two children - Elsie and baby Ollie.

They are a happy flock of sheep who have 22 acres of wild pastures to graze and a large old barn to shelter in the winter storms. Living out the whole of their natural lives here, well fed & cared for - which means there are quite a few geriatric sheep roaming around! We don't breed or raise sheep or lambs for meat. I have realised over 12 years living here that traditional farming just isn't for me so I've always tried to do different things with the sheep and ended up where I am now - ruled by over 50 noisy & nosey & greedy sheep! Every year each sheep grows its own individual fleece - beautiful & natural & all unique! And every year my husband and I shear the sheep ourselves the traditional way with blade shears. In between being a mother and shepherdess, I have found a great love for working with the fleeces from our sheep. I love the raw naturalness of wool and its amazing versatility - every fleece is different just like every sheep. I love working with the different fleeces and finding what purpose suits and works for them.

We offer fleeces, wool fibres and woollen homeware & crafts that are sustainable, natural and truly traceable all the way back to the individual sheep who wore the fleece for a year of his or her life. There is no big company behind us, no factory full of machines and workers - just little old me and my sheep.
