Almost all of my shades are universal shades, in that they fit perfectly on any base. The shades have a suspended ring that simply sit on the light socket just below where the bub is screwed into the socket. This will allow them to fit on any existing base you may already have. All my lamp bases, with the exception of my night lights, take a 40 watt type A standard bulb.

I would like to take a moment to explain the process by which I create my accent lamps.
The way in which I upholster my shades is determined by the size of the fabric with which I am working. In most cases, I purchase my fabric in yardage, therefore have a large piece of fabric with which to work. The shades made from yardage pieces result in a shade that has one back seam, which can be turned toward the wall and not seen (although it is lined up nicely with the seam of the shade itself, and does not look unattractive). In other cases, I purchase either small pieces of fabric, or fat quarters. When I make shades out of these smaller cuts of fabric, I need to use 2 pieces of fabric to upholster the shade. This results in two side seams, which give the shade a lovely finished off look. In other cases, the pattern of the fabric is so "spread out" that it would get lost on the shades. By cutting 2 smaller pieces, making up the front and back, I can often capture the print in a more flattering way. When viewing each lamp, please be sure to read the description carefully; lamps with two side seams will be described as such. Photographs will also be provided in the photo gallery.
Making each and every lamp is a process. Every fabric is cut to size using patterns I have made for each shade, then steam pressed to remove each and every small wrinkle. Each fabric selected and used for a shade requires a backing that I adhere for stability before I apply it to the shade itself. After the fabric is adhered, appliqued fabric, which goes through the same process, is sometimes added to give some lamp shades an additional pattern. In the meantime, each base is cleaned, inspected, then tested to ensure that it works properly, Each is then given two coats of primer, then two coats of paint. Once the paint has thoroughly dried, each base is then sealed with a
gloss finish polyurethane to give it a soft shine and added durability. I put a great deal of time and thought into each and every lamp I make, and am very particular about the final result!
Thank you, as always, for viewing my shop, and always feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I always love hearing from you!

One of my favorite things to do is making pieces for a new baby's nursery. I especially love creating original lampshades in a variety of themes.
