A Little About Rachel...

Hi everyone! I am an award winning ceramic artist from Northern Ireland, I create my artworks from my home studio in the Irish countryside. I completed a Masters Degree in Ceramics at Cardiff School of Art in 2015, and since graduating is has been my dream to create my own business and make a career in my one true passion...ceramics! My influences come from nature, from the flora and fauna that surrounds my home, to the textures and form of organic life.

I have 3 main collections available, here is a little explanation of each:

Watercolour Collection: Every item in this range is made from porcelain using the slip casting method which I create in small batches. This collection features bottle vases, bowls, milk jugs and framed artworks, most of which feature my own original watercolour paintings as decoration. I am currently working on some items to compliment this collection with block colours, so mixing and matching pieces from this range is ideal for adding splashes of colour to your home and make perfect gifts!

Dribble Collection: This range of artworks is new and exciting! I wanted to combine lots of texture to functional forms so that they could easily adapt from decorative work to useful objects. Each item in this collection is made from porcelain using the slip casting method, and are made in small batches. The exterior decoration and texture is made from a unique material called Egyptian Faience, a mixture of clay and glass (read more about this in the jewellery section below). Each item is beautifully tactile and look brilliant in a group of multiples, so start collecting!

Jewellery:
My jewellery is made from a very rare material called Egyptian Faience, which dates back to the ancient Egyptians. I have adapted various recipes to be used in a more contemporary way, to create beautifully glossy aesthetics in bright vibrant colours. Add a splash of colour to your outfit using my jewellery, or give the gift of a brooch and earrings set to brighten someones day.
