Explanation of the term brilliance in opals:
Brilliance describes the "luminosity" of the opal fire, that is, an opal fire with a high brilliance must be irradiated with relatively little light and the fire begins to glow. An opal fire with a low brilliance needs a certain light intensity to make the colors shine. As a rule, the colors shine most beautifully and strongly in direct sunshine.

Begriffserklärung Brillianz bei Opalen:
Die Brillianz beschreibt die ´´Leuchtkraft´´ des Opalfeuers, das heißt, ein Opalfeuer mit einer hohen Brillianz, muss mit relativ wenig Licht bestrahlt werden und das Feuer beginnt zu leuchten. Ein Opalfeuer mit einer niedrigen Brillianz brauch eine gewisse Lichtstärke um die Farben leuchten zu lassen. Am schönsten und stärksten leuchten die Farben in der Regel im direkten Sonnenschein.
