5 out of 5 starsGood quality plans, not made the table yet, but have learned a lot about general assembly that will lend itself to other reclaimed products.

5 out of 5 starsReally good quality. I used a light oak stain on them and some pipe-style brackets.
Cheapest scaffold boards I could find on the internet - very happy with them. -

Woody at work - making some shelves
If I'm not in my workshop, I'll probably be in a skip some place.
While making kitchen shelves one day from old scaffolding and pallet wood I found in a skip, my three year old son stole my allen key and began making a stool for himself - which gave me an idea.
- Welcome to Rat and Pallet -
We've all been there. Fighting our way through the crowds at an out-of-town furniture retailer or those damnable self service checkouts at some DIY store. And when you get home you unwrap a chipboard piece of [furniture] made with a gazillion carbon miles in some dubious country with questionable labour and safety laws. Then when you've pieced it all together with flimsy brackets or over-screwed into soft MDF, there's always a dubious wobble to contend with until you have to replace it a few years later and repeat the whole process again. Arrgh!
Having moved homes and presided over several startups I've been there all too often, which is why I began designing and hacking together my own furniture from industrial parts and upcycling free stuff from builders yards.
Check out the Rat and Pallet store for unusual and unique solutions to everyday design problems. But if I'm not there, I'll probably be rummaging around in a skip some place or sailing across the sea.

Danny does the lion share of the builds at the moment from his workshop in Manchester. Both lovers of adventure travel, Woody and Danny are rarely in the UK at the same time, so as one leaves for his next adventure, the other returns to blow the dust from his workshop.

My furniture is designed with love, passion and skill that when combined with robust, industrial materials creates a product that will last for generations, won't wreak havoc on our plant's resources and never go out of fashion.
