    Spin In Colour

Raynbow Punk is a paradise of colour, texture and fibre art, specialising in beautiful rainbows of hand-dyed fleece, hand spun yarn, carded art batts and stunning art yarns. The fibres used at Raynbow Punk range from finest quality merino and blue-faced leicester fleece, to sari silk fibre and dyed silk tops with plenty of variety in between, designed for any spinner, knitter or avid crafter! A lot of love and creativity goes into every product here so I hope you enjoy them as much as I loved making them!

    Frequently asked questions
Where is the fibre sourced from?

I source all my fibre from a responsible source. The merino fleece, which is the main fibre I use, is sourced from South America and non-mulesed. The fibre is dyed in Okeo-Tex standards, which checks for the presence of a number of harmful chemicals, making this fibre completely safe for skin contact.
The silk is not heavily farmed, and sourced responsibly from farmers who entice wild moths to their land to spin their cocoons. The sari silk fibre is made using offcuts of sari silk weaving, which are collected and processed to create fibre.

Are the products on this etsy shop environmentally-friendly?

I have developed my practice to make it as eco as possible. I don't use any single-use plastics in either the dyeing or spinning processes. I use the minimum amount of water I can, and when dyeing, reuse the fixing water to rinse the resultant fibre. I send the yarns to you in a biodegradable, reusable plastic bag and a recyclable, reusable plastic shipping bag. I use these bags to keep your yarn safe whilst travelling, as paper can leave the yarn susceptible to getting wet and damaged in transit.
