Fluting - groove or set of groves forming surface decoration, and so satisfying to do! Some more bud vases.
The 1970’s spider plant is well and truly back! I love making ceramics for plants, here’s my teal planter.

Form & Function, Beauty & Joy

Hello, my name is Rebecca
I first started pottery in the 1990's and in 2017 I set up my own studio and work mostly on the potters wheel. I've been looking at glaze chemistry and make all my own glazes and slips, rather than buying commercial glazes.

In order to develop my craft I was invited to work with international master potter Mike Dodd, and with raku potter John Scott. This experience has been invaluable to me in terms of technique, but also in acquiring a philosophy and approach towards my work.

I enjoy making both functional and decorative wheel thrown stoneware pieces, the sort that you can look at with pleasure, but also functionally is a delight to use.

My inspiration and influences are varied from the British Studio Pottery tradition, infused with other current ceramics works, sculptural pieces and social auto-biographical ceramics to memories of my mum bringing home her pots from night class. Please enjoy my Etsy Shop and thank you for your interest in my work. Rebecca

Care instructions

I have tested pots that are made for the oven & microwave, and they tested positively, but as with all dishwashers overtime they can cause abrasions.

My glazes used on wares to use for foods etc. are food safe.

For the hanging baskets I use a plastic pot liner, plants do prefer this, but you don't have to, you can just add pebbles to the bottom, soil and your favourite plant, succulent or cacti. Just be careful not to over water as there are no drainage holes - but then no messy leaking!

What are your pot made of?

Materials: Stoneware clay & glazed
Glazes are lead-free and I use food-safe glazes on items used for food etc. All the glazes have been hand made, rather than commercially bought glazes, so all the ingredients are known.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All items are sent well packaged in cardboard boxes. I use recycled bubble wrap, eco green bubble wrap & cardboard. I don't use actually gift wrapping paper, but it will be wrapped in my white paper carry bags with logo, with some information of my pottery.
