4 out of 5 starsI do not want to slag it off, the item is what it promises to be, but it ends up being a rather expensive small-ish cloth sack after considering shipment.

-
I copy items from my own collection, also variations in reference books, internet sites, and other collections.
-
I make detailed measurements and drawings by examining original items for reference and construction guides.
-
From drawings I make patterns, and cut from a range of fabrics bought here or imported from Russia.
-
Construction is done with the original to hand (where possible) for reference.
-
Using a simple set up of alternative fake crate lids, I make a photo box to create the listings seen in the shop.
Why Red Army?
There was a desire to explore Eastern Front re-enactment in the UK in the mid 1980's. Soviet uniforms, equipment and insignia from the Second World War (Great Patriotic War in Russia) were not readily available, let alone accurate reference material. So we had to make our own based on any references we could find. This led to a big research project, and I got hooked. OTK 87 started life making necessary items for our re-enactments back in 1987. What I am doing here is just a continuation of that.
Where possible I copy genuine items in my own collection, or collections of friends and colleagues. My main fabric is canvas cotton duck from the Soviet plash palatka rain cape which is used for the majority of the products I make along with military grade cotton twill fabrics imported direct from Russia, therefore using genuine fabrics from the country of origin. I also work in natural linen for some items. Smaller items such as buttons, buckles, cotton tape, hemp cord are imported from Russia, China and Korea.
I aim to provide items no one else is making here in the West, and I am always looking to expand and improve my range.
Due to the limited random availability of certain materials or fittings, production runs on certain items may be very limited, and once they are gone, they are gone!

WW2 re-enactor since 1980, and still learning! I enjoy the whole process from developing a product to seeing them in use in other groups pictures. I see what I produce as an extension of my hobby.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders
For any custom work, please message me to discuss what you want. From this if the order is going ahead, I can create a 'private' listing for your order. (A private listing is only visible to me and you).
If I need to purchase additional items/materials not held in stock specifically for your order, you will be charged that full cost as part of your order, and I may ask you to pay for your item in advance to cover the cost of such a purchase. This cost is non refundable if you change your mind. bespoke orders cannot be cancelled, or refunded once materials ordered or product made.
Wholesale availability
For some of my lines, I can provide a quantity in excess of the number listed. Please message me if you require more than the listed quantity and I will notify you if this is possible and how long before your order will be ready.
Please give me as much notice as possible on this as some items are time consuming to make, and I may have other commitments to consider, plus I have limited time to work each week.
Shipping policy
All items are sent Royal Mail. All UK orders over £10.00 are sent signed for. All non UK orders are sent with a tracked service. Combined postage is automatic in shop settings.
UK orders under £10.00 can upgrade to signed for service during checkout, change the upgrade option from "none" to " Signed for".
Do NOT ask me to falsify value on customs forms, this is not possible.
A notification will be sent within 8 hours of actual posting. Click on the "track my item" button in that mail to track your order, or visit;- https://www.royalmail.com/track.
Claims for lost orders
If you think your order is lost, please get in touch to discuss options. If a tracking service is used, I can make a claim with Royal Mail. This will have to be 28 days after shipping for some countries. While the claim is going through, I can prepare a replacement order (where possible) if that is your choice. Once the claim and any compensation comes back, our arrangement can be resolved. If your order arrives while a claim is in progress you MUST let me know, fraudulent claims will not be tolerated, and you may be blocked from further purchases.
Authenticity
I try to be as accurate as I can when reproducing an item, this includes dimensions and shapes, materials and fittings. If it's an item I myself own I often have that original item beside me when working. A lot of wartime produced RKKA items vary from what I produce in some way, As a general rule I try to keep my products as close to the object I own/have access to/or reference on. If you wish a variant, please message me. If new or better information or materials come along, I upgrade my products accordingly.

*Due to new packaging regulations in Germany, I can no longer ship to that country.* I ship my items world wide, I have supplied my products to clients in the UK, USA, Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, Canada, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Finland, Italy, Portugal, Austria, China, Hungary, Japan, Hong Kong, Spain, Norway, South Korea, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, The Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Thailand, Switzerland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Turkey, Russia, Singapore & Malaysia.

Returns/claims
It is required that returning an item to me from abroad you clearly mark as "RETURNS" on the customs label. This is for any possible import or tax charges. Failure to comply will result in your returned package being refused, and no refund given. Buyers are responsible for ALL return postage costs and any fees incurred. if I am charged anything for your returned item, that cost will be deducted from your refund. Etsy's EU form for returning items to the UK can be found here;- https://extfiles.etsy.com/cancellation-forms/EUCancellationFormEN.pdf
Orders to Asia
I have sent a few orders to Asia, but encountered problems with Oriental text, please supply your name and address in Latin text. Asian language characters are not always recognisable to Etsy, and I am getting addresses showing just square symbols and numbers!
Refunds
Customers placing large multi item orders may get over charged on shipping as the system keeps adding additional charges per item. All such overcharges are refunded after your order has shipped.
Under Etsy's new payment procedures, all Paypal payments are redirected into Etsy Payments, not my own standalone Paypal account. Therefore it is impossible to issue refunds from Paypal, as your payment does not exist there! - These refunds can only be issued from my Etsy Payments account! Please be advised, it takes Etsy about 1 second to take the money from me, but it can take up to 30 days before it gets back to non UK customers!
Shipping charges
Shipping charges cover the actual postage costs, plus any and all packaging required (bubble wrap, packing paper etc), boxes, jiffy bags, mailer bags, tape, grip seal bags, labels and printing + 10% to cover Etsy fees, commission and V.A.T. (tax).
Combined postage is automatically calculated in my shop settings to save you money. However, it is virtually impossible to predict which combinations will sell in multi item purchases, and occasionally a shipping over-charge will happen. If this does happen, I issue a refund the same day as the order ships. All refunds can only be issued via the original payment method.
