Eco-friendly Sterling silver and copper jewellery, nature and folk art inspired, with a rustic edge

I make beautiful, eco-friendly jewellery handmade from Sterling silver, copper, base metals and semi-precious stones.

I’m influenced by Folk and Naive art, the simple shapes and motifs lend themselves so well for reproduction in metal work. I’m very lucky to live and work in the Kent countryside, which is a constant source of inspiration and reflection.

I always use eco-friendly packaging and stationery and I’m starting to use Eco Silver (100%recycled silver) in more of my designs.

Welcome to Red Hen Jewellery...
Thanks for visiting my little shop. All jewellery is designed and handmade by me, in my home workshop.
I work in Sterling silver, Eco silver, copper and semi-precious stones. My work features folk art motifs, leaves and natural forms and I'm always inspired by the beautiful Kent countryside where I live!

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)

Returns and exchange details
It's important to me that you are completely happy with your purchase, but if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your goods then please contact me and I will try to resolve any problems.
If you would prefer a refund, then I can arrange this providing you return your goods within 14 days of receipt and everything is in its original condition.

Refunds include initial postage costs, but return postage costs are the buyers responsibility.

I regret I cannot refund earrings due to hygiene issues.

I regret I cannot return custom made or personalised items.
Payment is required within 24 hours of purchase, please.
If the shipping name and/or address differs to your Etsy name and/or address, please send me a message straight away, or write the correct address in the "Message to Seller" section during check out.

All UK orders are posted via Royal Mail 1st Class or Royal Mail Signed For within 3 days receipt of payment (although I usually post the next day)

If you would like to upgrade to Royal Mail Special Delivery, fully insured and guaranteed next day delivery; please email/convo me and I can invoice you for this.

Overseas orders are sent via Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed, also within 3 days receipt of payment.

Items which are made to order will be dispatched within 7 working days.

***IMPORTANT*** International buyers are responsible for any and all Customs Charges, Taxes & Additional Postal Fees. Sellers aren't responsible for delays due to customs.

All items are gift boxed in a kraft recycled paper box, stamped with my logo and will be safely wrapped inside a jiffy bag or padded envelope.

Where possible, I always use 100% recycled paper goods for my boxes and stationery.

Please ensure that your mailing and email address are current and the same in both Etsy and PayPal.

All my silver items weigh less than 7.78g, therefore do not require hallmarking.

As of 25th May 2018, the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect. The GDPR changes how personal data can be used, and also allows individuals to be able to find out what information organisations have about them, and to have that data deleted in certain circumstances.

The Little Red Hen Jewellery is run by me, Alix Leeds as a sole trader. Your privacy is important to me and this policy document explains what personal data I collect from you and how I use it.

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of jewellery, for example), if you contact me directly.

Information Sharing and Disclosure
Under no circumstances is your data ever sold or rented to a third party.

• Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
• Folksy. I share information with Folksy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Folksy Seller Policy and Folksy Terms of Use.

• Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to process orders and provide services to my shop, such as PayPal , Royal Mail and delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
• Paypal. I share information with Paypal as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under Consumer Rights Act 2015.

• Stripe. I share information with Stripe as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Offline Sales

If you purchase from The Little Red Hen on a face-to-face basis and you pay by card, you will be paying via iZettle. iZettle does not share or disclose any of your bank details to The Little Red Hen. If you required a receipt for your purchase, you will have been asked for your email address or mobile number to which your receipt may be sent. Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements.
I am required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years. After this point your information will be kept until you notify me otherwise; you have the right to be forgotten so contact me if you would like your data to be destroyed.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU
I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
