Who doesn't love getting their very own illustration! Plus, Charli is an amazing artist and this book is a wonderful and accurate depiction of that talent. It's a sweet story for kids to know that animals aren't scary!!

About

Hi there...

I'm Charli, I'm a Norwich based illustrator with a love for all things science, wildlife, dogs, and SciFi.

I got into art the usual way; started drawing when I was a kid, found out it was fun, realised that I got rather good at it, carried on it school! But the important bit for me was the transition from the 'fine art' view of art that school gave me to the illustration side that I barely knew even existed until I went to college for my Foundation Diploma.

Fine art was the direction I was dead set on whilst in school, but the only reason for this was that I wasn't taught - or shown - anything any different. Upon getting some solid advice, expanding my research criteria, and generally practicing outside my comfort zone at college, I realised fine art just wasn't for me. Illustration opened up this whole new world of commercial value, client briefs, and working to different formats all whilst maintaining the level of creative freedom and expertise that any artist needs to flourish.

I went on to complete a degree in illustration in 2014 in what is now my home; Norwich (UK). It was during this three year period that I finally tapped into something I'd had an underlying fascination in for many years; the sciences. By combining my illustrative skills, my appreciation for science, and my love for wildlife & fauna I found a niche that I've been curating and working my way through since then.

Of course, like most artists, my style and focus is changing and fluctuating every day, but each time my main source of inspiration seems to be something underneath the umbrella of the sciences & natural history. Since graduation I've successfully self published a book, launched a solo exhibition, become a member of the AOI and continued to take on many personal and commercial commissions as a freelancer. I'm always trying to reach more clients, produce unique work, and constantly work towards having the dream career of a successful full time freelancer that I've always wanted!

Thanks for reading, I hope you like what you see in my shop, happy browsing!
