Just unpacked this and it’s BEAUTIFUL, so thrilled and so tempted to keep it, but it’s a present! Very carefully packed and wrapped up - glad to see Robyn reusing packaging to help the planet:) - and looking forward to giving it to the lucky recipient. Happy to recommend Robyn - prompt shipping, gorgeous things, helpful emails.

Brought as a Mothers Day present. The whale now has pride of place in my mum's bathroom! She's very pleased

Bought as a gift for my wife, after the site was recommended by a friend.

The order and delivery was excellent, with Robyn taking extra care to ensure delivery was made without any indication of supplier on the packaging, so my wife would have no idea as to content, should she be the one who took delivery.

The Whale itself is wonderful and shows fantastic skill and artistry in the making.

We have lots of animal art at home and this ranks up with anything else we have at a very good price!

It will be a pleasure to have this piece on display at our seaside home.

    Thanks Robyn, we will return!

About

Robyn Coetzee's Glass Birds

Birds have always been a part of my life. I grew up in South Africa in a house built around an aviary, and my first pet was a much-loved cockatiel.

My birds are made from kiln formed glass. Glass sheet is cut into shapes and layered, then glass powder added for fine detail. The finished birds are then carefully moved over into my kiln. They are heated to over 800°C so that the glass melts and the layers fuse together. The heating and cooling anneals the glass and makes it strong. My birds are sunlight and water resistant.

I sell my work in our co-operative shop 'Fig' on the bohemian Gloucester Road in Bristol and at the very popular Bath Christmas Market, so my customers are scattered far and wide. They regularly ask if I sell my birds online so that they can add to their collection or buy a gift. So finally I have set up my internet shop!

Each item is made to order and hand-made so each is unique. However if there is something particular that you would like to add or change I will gladly try to accommodate your request.
