About Us

Hi my name is Julie and I run our small family business with my daughter Annabelle. We are based in the sleepy seaside town of Broadstairs, in Kent, England, our history with loose leaf tea has been lifelong, appreciating its fine qualities and flavours.

The reason we exist? Well, this a brief outline: My Dad (Annabelle's Grandad) was a true Teapot in every sense, he was never without a cuppa in his hand! His family came from the East End of London and were very much Cockneys, and my Nana always read the leaves in the bottom of the cup! All this helped to inspire us into starting our little English tea company; Dad was lost to Parkinson's Disease back in 2010 and we set up Rosie Lea Tea in his memory. If you aren’t familiar with Cockney Rhyming Slang then you may not know that Rosie Lea stands for tea, ‘ Let’s have a lovely cup of Rosie’. it is not our names! One of our blends – My Dad's Blend – was made to reincarnate my Dads sweet tooth, and a percentage of this teas profit goes as a donation to The Parkinson Society.

Our highest priority is that all of our loose leaf tea and infusions are of consistently high quality and a genuinely fair price.

We are proud to say that we are a genuine Artisan tea company, that our tea recipes are unique, hand blended and then hand weighed and packaged by us all within the county of Kent, The Garden of England.

ALLERGENS ADVICE:
Although we are very careful with which ingredients are used and attempt to limit cross contamination we DO NOT work within a fully sterile environment; for this reason we cannot say without doubt that any of our products may or may not not contain traces of allergens, this is purely due to the differing ingredients we purchase and the trace warnings that they carry.

This is the allergen warning that all our teas carry at this moment in time:

Due to manufacturing processes this tea may contain traces of: Cereals containing gluten, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, milk, soya, mustard and sulphur dioxide (>10mg/kg). (sulphur dioxide is used to preserve all dried fruits and prevents them rotting).

If you have specific queries with regards to any of our tea blends then please send us a message and we will happily send you a full ingredients list along with the blend specification.

How long will my order take to arrive?

We send all our parcels with a tracking number and a signature will be required at the time of receipt.
We estimate 2-3 BUSINESS days from the date of shipping within the UK.
Outside of the UK we would anticipate a delivery time somewhere within a 5-7 BUSINESS day time period, however we cannot guarantee this as there may be multiple circumstances outside of our control that could affect this.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DUE TO COVID-19 THERE ARE, AT TIMES, SIGNIFICANT DELAYS OF WHICH WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE, WE WILL HELP WHERE WE CAN BUT TRACKING INFORMATION IS QUITE SKETCTHY FOR MOST DELIVERY COMPANIES OUTSIDE OF THE UK.

Why are US Postage Charges so high?

As of 1st July 2020 postal charges increased significantly for all international shipments to the USA, this was an initiative by the US administration.
We will always try and offer as reasonable a cost for postage where possible, but due to weight influences on charges we are limited on our price structure within Etsy. If you are wishing to buy multiple items, then please contact us as we may be able to tailor make a price for you.

How do you ship orders?

We send all our orders tracked.
Within the UK parcels are sent on a Tracked 48 hour delivery with Royal Mail.
All overseas parcels are sent via UK Royal Mail post, they are then handed over to the recipients relevant country postal service, there will always be a tracking number provided so that you can watch the progress of your package.
Large orders may be eligible for Courier shipment, we will advise you of this prior to shipment
