Whats the Story?

Born from an obsession with creating and crafting, The Rusty Oak is a brand based in the UK, supplying handmade products to adorn your own special space. We design and make everything our selves in our little home studio based in the Northern medieval city of York. Each item you see has been conceived and crafted by hand by myself (Matt) or my partner in crime (Lucy).

Taking inspiration from a long held obsession with typography & vintage Americana as well as traditional crafting techniques we aim to offer an alternative to the mass produced.

Our Decorative Pennants -

We cut, by hand, all elements of the pennant from wool blend Felt and finished on the sewing machine, to ensure a lasting product. The base flag is doubled up and the letters are re-inforced with machine stitching to ensure longevity. Each pennant is hand crafted with love and as such, unique - a little piece of textile art and design.

We strive to make our designs as bold and interesting as possible and so use classics fonts and detailing, going that extra mile to make sure you have something worth displaying for years to come. We offer custom pennants and can get as minimal or decorative as the technique allows, so if you have a cool idea please get in touch.
