5 out of 5 starsI asked Sarah to paint a portrait of my cat Tom and she did so beautifully. It’s exactly him asleep on his favourite bed. Packaged so carefully with a handwritten note and arrived super fast. What a brilliant purchase experience, I can’t recommend Sarah enough!

Rusty & Boots Art and Wall Decor
Hi, I'm Sarah, the designer, maker and artist behind Rusty and Boots. Thank you for taking the time to visit my shop.
I've always loved painting and making things, from the moment I was old enough to hold a pencil! I loved it when my paintings were put up on the wall in school.
My mother taught me to knit at a very early age and also how to sew. She, in turn, learned all that from my grandmother, so I like to think of these skills being handed down the generations.
My love of art and sewing took me to college and then to university, where I gained a degree in Surface Pattern Design. My head is always full of ideas and each one of my items is individually handmade by me, giving each piece a uniqueness that can't be completely replicated. All of my work is made with care and love that only handmade can give.
I have wanted to open my shop for a long time and I've been working hard to achieve this, perfecting my techniques and getting everything right to make these pieces to a good standard for my customers. I have already completed four commissions and sold one artwork privately. My aim is to spread joy and to bring nature and magic to your home decor.
My work is very much inspired by nature, animals, myth and folklore and family, which is why I love making gifts for you to give to your loved ones.
Opening my shop has meant so much to me and I hope you'll enjoy looking around it and joining me on my adventure. If you have any questions, feel free to message me here or on social media. I answer as soon as I can.

Frequently asked questions
Do you take custom and personalised orders?
I welcome custom and personalised orders, just send me a message detailing what you would like. I will ask a few questions to make sure I know exactly what you're looking for, then send you a photo so you can see it before I send it. This way, you can tell me if you would like any amendments to the product. I will list it as a custom order and you can purchase it from my shop.
The time each order takes depends on what it is, but it will normally be around two to three days to make, plus shipping time.
How do I care for my product?
Keep your painting or wall art out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.
Dust it lightly with a lint-free cloth when needed.
Do you do gift wrapping?
I can gift wrap your purchase for you, just send me a message when you buy.
Is your packaging eco friendly?
Yes, all my packaging comes from a responsible source and can be recycled.
What materials do you use?
For my paintings I use graphite, pencil or coloured pencil to do my first sketches, then I use watercolour, acrylic or oil paints to paint the actual work. I use high quality 230 gsm and 250 gsm, acid free paper and also stretched canvases for my paintings.
For my weavings/crochet wall hangings I use a combination of natural cotton, wool and acrylic yarn. The dowels I attach them to are made of responsibly sourced wood.
My textile art pieces are made of a combination of fabric I've dyed or patterned myself, upcycled fabric and new fabric.
What size are your items?
The size of each item is stated in the individual product listing.
My paintings will usually fit an A4 frame with a mount, but please check the listing for the exact dimensions. If you choose for your painting to be mounted before I send it, it will be A4 in size.
My wall hangings are generally around the same size, but some, like my round weavings and crochet mandalas, are smaller.
