Do you know that? The feeling of “I can do that too!” and “That could be better!” ?
Well, that motivated me to start doing leather stuff. The material has been on my mind for a long time and anyone who knows a little bit about it knows:
Leather is no longer leather (well, at least what you are presented with as a normal citizen)!
And if you look around the kink scene, you'll see a lot of crap (if you ever see leather at all): Chinese scrap (split leather with a vinyl coating, "real leather" (leather shavings that are stuck together with glue) and artificial leather or things like that Biothanes seem to dominate, and that's a terrible shame!
Leather has gotten a bad reputation due to poor products and ethical concerns. It is an incredibly flexible and sustainable material that can last a lifetime and is really damn sexy.
So what is my mission?
Making leather more socially acceptable again. Away from massively overpriced custom-made products and fast fashion rubbish through timeless designs and more realistic prices. Because good leather doesn't have to be incredibly expensive or absolute junk to reach people.
Maybe (probably) that's a little over-targeted, but hey!
Otherwise I might just be able to justify the rather expensive hobby with a few sales :D.

Kennt ihr das? Das Gefühl von "Das kann ich auch!" und "Das geht auch besser!" ?
Tja, das hat mich motiviert mit dem Lederkrams anzufangen. Das Material beschäftigt mich schon lange und jeder der ein bisschen was davon versteht, der weiss:
Leder ist nichtmehr Leder (naja, zumindest was man so als Otto Normalbürger zumeist präsentiert bekommt)!
Und wenn man sich so in der Kink Szene umschaut, dann sieht man (wenn man überhaupt mal Leder sieht) viel Mist: China Schrott (Spaltleder mit Vinyl-Beschichtung, "Echtleder" (Lederspähne die mit Kleber zusammengepappt werden) und Kunstleder oder Sachen wie Biothane scheinen zu dominieren. Und das ist furchtbar schade!
Leder hat eine schlechte Reputation bekommen, durch schlechte Produkte und ethische Bedenken. Dabei ist es ein unglaublich flexibler und nachhaltiger Werkstoff, der ein Leben lang halten kann und dabei echt verdammt sexy ist.
Was ist also meine Mission?
Leder wieder salonfähiger machen. Weg von massiv überteuerten Maßanfertigungen und Fast Fashion Müll durch zeitlose Designs und realistischere Preise. Denn gutes Leder muss weder unglaublich teuer, noch absoluter Schrott sein um die Leute zu erreichen.
Vielleicht (wahrscheinlich) ist das ein wenig sehr hoch gezielt, aber hey!
Sonst kann ich vielleicht einfach das doch recht teuere Hobby durch ein paar Verkäufe rechtfertigen :D.
