Beads + Colour = Happiness!

My beading journey started when, wanting some "me" time, I took myself off to a one-day introductory course in jewellery making. I was hooked.

I have since experimented with lots of different beading techniques. For now, my main interests include beadweaving, kumihimo and using artisan beads in unique, colourful, pieces. Colour is very important in my work. I love trying different combinations, as well as tried-and-tested mixes.

I fit my beading around family commitments and a nearly full-time job - I have two young sons (12 & 10) who are boisterous, sporty and have a busy social life! Not at all interested in jewellery making ... computer games are their thing.

Do keep popping back to my shop and, if you've not already found it, my Facebook page too (Sally Thake Jewellery), where I quite often show off my latest creations and announce lovely coupon codes.

Plans for 2018 include ... designing my own kumihimo patterns, making my own lampwork beads, spending more time on our allotment, going swimming regularly and eating less cake, and anything else that takes my fancy ....

I only make and sell pieces of jewellery that I would be happy to wear myself - it's as simple as that!

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns and exchanges

I don't accept cancellations

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
I endeavour to give as accurate descriptions of my items as possible, including size and colours. Most items are photographed in natural daylight and, so far as possible, reflect the true colour(s) of the beads and materials used. Please bear in mind that colours can vary on different screens and devices.

Many photographs are taken on the macro setting to gives as much detail as possible. Again, I always try to give accurate measurements - any questions, please ask!

I really want you to be happy with your purchase and make every effort to ensure items leave my workspace in perfect condition.

If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you may return it for a full refund of the item price, minus postage and packing costs, within 14 days of receipt. A refund will be issued once I have received the item. Please ensure you obtain proof of postage.

Please contact me immediately if your item has been damaged during shipping - it does happen, occasionally, despite plenty of protective packaging.
I am happy to accept PayPal, Direct Checkout and Etsy Gift cards - whatever is easiest for you!
Most of the items listed in my store are ready for immediate despatch. I have a local post office open Monday-Saturday (am). I aim to despatch your jewellery within 1-3 working days.

Most items are sent First Class (large letter) within the UK - occasionally I use Second Class for parcels.

International orders are sent as "'small packets" using a standard airmail service. If you require a "tracking service" (or "signed for"), please contact me prior to purchase - the cost of this option is approx. £10.00 (subject to change).

Buyers are responsible for any customs and/or import duties that may apply. Sorry, but I am not responsible for delays due to customs.

I do not gift-wrap items as such, but please be assured that your purchase will be securely parcelled in protective bubble wrap, wrapped in pretty tissue paper, and despatched in a post-it box, where size permits. Occasionally, I use recycled packaging, e.g. a padded envelope, especially if it is more suitable for the piece of jewellery concerned.

Customisation: Many items can be customised. Lots of my jewellery looks fabulous in bridal colours, too! Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

In line with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the following explains how I use information about you when you make a purchase from me.

When you make a purchase from Sally Thake Jewellery, I need the following information from you - your name, your address and sometimes your email address and/or telephone number, in order to fulfil your order. This information is the same whether you buy from me via Facebook or Etsy, or any other platform. I will also receive this information if you order something from me directly, e.g. in person at a craft fair. Your details will only be used to process and deliver your order, or deal with any queries you have related to that order.

I never receive any of your financial information when you pay via Paypal or credit card - this information is kept securely by the processing companies.

You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (e.g. for a custom order), if you contact me directly.

I do not keep a mailing list, nor send out newsletters, so any email address you provide will never be added to any lists. In addition, I do not pass your information on to anyone else.

I do not store your data outside of Etsy, Facebook etc. and any data they hold will be subject to their privacy policies.

Once your payment has been received and your order dispatched I no longer require your information. You are entitled at any point to enquire what information I currently have about you. All enquiries will be dealt with promptly - this is free of charge.
