Faço lindas lembranças para você lembrar de suas férias em Sanibel, Captiva, Ft. Myers ou de seu casamento em um destino turístico.
Sempre adorei a Flórida. Morei perto de Sanibel, com algumas interrupções, desde o final dos anos 90. Mas, desde o furacão Ian, mudei-me para o Tennessee.
Para fazer as contas, pingentes e colares, começo coletando areia das praias locais de Sanibel, Captiva e Fort Myers para usar nas minhas criações de joias. Faço todas as joias no meu ateliê em casa.
Materiais de qualidade são importantes para mim na hora de criar uma peça que tenha boa aparência, toque e durabilidade. Ao fazer meus próprios lampworks e vidro fundido, posso adicionar areia das praias que coletei. Também uso conchas que encontrei e comprei localmente. Pode ser desafiador incorporar as conchas e a areia diretamente no vidro, então criei minha própria técnica para fazer isso com sucesso. O resultado são tesouros únicos para guardar como lembrança.
Depois de fazer as contas, os cabochões ou as peças de vidro fundido, gosto de usar arame de metal sólido de qualidade para fazer as voltas e as alças dos pingentes e brincos. Compro lindas correntes por metro e faço meus próprios colares, e também compro colares prontos da Rio Grande Jewelry, nos EUA.
Eu uso prata fina, esterlina, cobre, bronze e latão, ouro e ouro rosa, fios e correntes para fazer as joias parecerem lindas e duradouras. Também gosto de usar acabamentos em couro grego, seda, algodão e cânhamo para um visual terroso. Tenho uma caixa de ferramentas que contém uma variedade de técnicas e habilidades que comecei a aprender na infância. Sempre adorei fazer e criar coisas. Ao longo dos anos, trabalhei com muitos meios. Ainda gosto de experimentar técnicas diferentes e tento criar algumas das minhas também. A natureza é definitivamente minha maior fonte de inspiração, ela contém um número incrível de designs, cores e padrões, é uma obra-prima viva e pulsante. Aprecio as nuances de luz, clima, estações, locais e todos os habitantes que os apreciam. Meu processo criativo envolve o uso da memória e da imaginação, que eu acho que é uma combinação de tudo até este ponto.

Ao projetar uma nova peça, eu a esboço em detalhes ou gosto de explorar os materiais à minha frente e começo a brincar.

Sou um artista autodidata e também gosto de ensinar adultos e crianças. Adoro passar o que sei para os outros.

Na minha opinião, o processo de criação de algo é tão importante quanto o produto. Se você se sente entusiasmado e ama o que faz, isso transparecerá no trabalho finalizado. Acho que a perfeição é para as máquinas; adoro e prefiro o visual de peças orgânicas feitas à mão. Também gosto de pintar, e meu estilo tende a ser solto, livre e impressionista, com muitas cores alegres. Gosto de incluir um mini cartão marcador de página original em aquarela em cada pedido, como brinde.

I make lovely keepsake Souvenirs to remind you of your Sanibel, Captiva, Ft. Myers vacation or destination wedding.
I have always loved Florida. I have lived near Sanibel off and on since the late 90s. But since the hurricane Ian, I moved to Tennessee.
To make the beads, pendants and necklaces, I start by gathering the sand from the local beaches of Sanibel, Captiva and Ft. Myers to use in my jewelry creations. I make all of the jewelry in my home studio.
Quality materials are important to me when coming up with a piece that looks, feels and wears well. When making my own lampwork and fused glass I have the ability to add sand from the beaches that I have collected. I also use shells that I found and locally purchased ones. It can be challenging to incorporate the shells and sand directly into the glass, so I came up with my own technique to do it successfully. The result is one-of-a-kind keepsake treasures.
After making the bead, cabochon or fused glass pieces, I like to use quality solid metal wire for making the wire wraps and bails for the pendants and earrings. I buy beautiful chain by the foot and make my own necklaces and also, I buy pre-made ones from Rio Grande Jewelry in the USA.
I use fine silver, sterling, copper, bronze and brass, gold filled, and rose gold filled wire and chain to make the jewelry lovely looking and long lasting. I also like to use Greek leather, silk, cotton, and hemp finishings for an earthy look. I have a toolbox that contains a variety of techniques and skills that I began to learn in childhood. I have always loved making and creating things. Over the years I have worked with many mediums. I still enjoy experimenting with different techniques and try to come up with some of my own as well. Nature is definitely my biggest source of inspiration, it contains an incredible number of designs, colors and patterns, it's a living and breathing created masterpiece. I appreciate the nuances of light, weather, seasons, locations and all the inhabitants that enjoy them. My creative process involves using memory and imagination, which I guess is a combination of everything up to this point. 

In designing a new piece, I either sketch it out in detail or enjoy exploring the materials in front of me and start to play. 

I am a self-taught artist and also enjoy teaching both adults and children, I love to pass on what I know to others.

In my opinion, the process of making something is just as important, as the product. If you are exhilarated by and love what you do it will show in the finished work. I think that perfection is for machines, I love and prefer the look of hand tooled organic pieces. I also enjoy painting, and my style tends to be loose, free and impressionistic with lots of happy colors. I like to include a mini original watercolor bookmark-note card with each order as a free gift.
