5 out of 5 starsLets just say that when I opened my package I very audibly gasped!! ♥ She was obviously made with much love, down to the smallest detail, and I feel so blessed to have her! Simply stunning! Shipping was fast and well packaged so she got to her new home in one piece. The seller even included a gorgeous little selkie necklace to keep her company on the trip! I'm totally over the moon and can't wait to get another!! Thank you ♥♥

Exploring the Sacred Feminine, celebrating Mother Nature. Handmade Porcelain Yonis, Goddesses and Selkies to be worn, held, for special places.
My work celebrates the Sacred Feminine. I am inspired by nature, mythology, fairy tales and ancient artefacts. Everything I make is unique and handmade. I work principally with porcelain clay, painting and photography. It is made with love. It can be worn, be used to meditate on or simply to enhance that special place or altar. I am happy to take commissions and love to discuss my work, so please get in touch.
I live and work in North Yorkshire between the North Sea and moors, between post-industrial Teesside and wild rugged coastline. This harsh landscape generates its own myths and stories. This wildness feeds my soul and my Art. I live minutes from the the woods and the North Sea, my studio is just is just round the corner. It is this strong sense of place and belonging that informs everything I create.
I make small beautiful porcelain objects to accompany us as we travel on our life's journey. Each piece embodies a unique and specific energy and has a story to tell. Powerful and crammed full of creative energy they may adorn a shrine or special place. Smooth and sensuous they fit perfectly into your hand for caressing and some are small enough to fit snugly into your pocket or handbag.
There is a magical alchemy as wet clay from the earth is refined, worked, fired and transformed into something beautiful. As I work the clay, I let my fingers and the clay decide what it is going to be. As it slowly dries, I incise patterns and detail into it with a sharp tool. After the first firing I carefully brush coloured oxides and stains on to its' cracks and scratches, wiping away excess colour. Opening the kiln is like discovering treasure. It is impossible to predict what I will find. I love this random alchemy.
At the moment my work broadly explores the following themes:
Selkies - a symbol of soul and of protection. Part woman part seal this creature represents the best of both. When we wear our seal skin we are able to travel effortlessly between different worlds and experiences, safe and nurtured. Selkies embody a gentle flowing energy that allows them to swim to the depths of the Ocean to return home. Some of the the Selkies appear to be pregnant. Perhaps this is our soul safely cocooned and protected deep within the womb of our mother? A place we can return to at will for comfort and solace. Perhaps we are germinating new ideas or projects that need to remain safe until we are ready to share?
Yoni - source, our beginning. The gateway to the Sacred Feminine, and a symbol of our beauty and power. A reminder of our creativity and fertility. A places where our secrets can be kept safe.
Goddesses- all beautiful, all unique, each representing different aspects of the Divine feminine. Some have been inspired by Ancient prehistoric depictions of the Goddess. They embody a raw power, be it warrior or earth mother. Some acting as a natural conduit between earth energy and our own special energy. These Goddesses are pregnant with possibilities, teaming with life. Protecting their precious centres whilst engaging in the world.
Dancers - alive and vital, our bodies in a state of grace at the sheer joy of being alive as we dance our life story. We have arrived, we own our rhythms and cycles. We are strident and powerful; we bend, twist and turn as we face life full on.
I also paint and illustrate along similar themes. I am addicted to bright colour and am on a mission to find the brightest colours. My intention is that these images are healing like mandalas. I intend that my work on paper will shortly be available in this store.
Thank you for your reading this. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
