Announcement   I make clothes from second hand and vintage fabrics to produce garments which are beautiful, affordable and sustainable. I believe fashion can be sustainable, ethical and fun! The shop has recently expanded to stock vintage clothing and shoes.

I'm inspired by 90s fashion, hippies from the 60s and the bohemian 70s. I love paisley, the colour yellow, and anything with a good print.

The picture does not do the jumper justice. It is the softest, warmest comfiest jumper I've seen. My sister is delighted with it, and struggles to take it off she is so in love with it.

About

About Shop Jessthetics

I've been making my own clothes on and off since I was fourteen. At University I developed a commitment to live a more sustainable lifestyle, and I found it difficult to find clothes that were sustainable, affordable and also exciting. So, I made my own! By using only second hand and vintage fabrics, the clothes I make have a minimal environmental impact and the colourful, patterned material that I use is fun and playful!

I buy fabric in car boot sales, in charity shops or when people hear that I want second hand fabric and let me rumage through their stash! All fabric is washed and ironed before being lovingly sewn by me into the garments that you see on the shop. I make clothes from my own patterns, or I upcycle existing items into something more wearable.

I am inspired by the 60s, the 70s and the 90s. Colour and pattern are important to me, so you'll see a lot of that around here. Paisley, floral, gingham and plaid prints are Shop Jessthetics staples!

When I'm not hunting for fabric, sewing up clothes or photographing items for the shop you'll find me writing on my blog (www.jessthetics.wordpress.com) travelling or working on one of many crafty projects!
