4 out of 5 starsThese look great. The Christmas tissue paper for wrapping and the gift tag i had applied is super cute.
I did think that the bee was separate and its actually attached to the hessian bag but its cute. They are a Christmas gift for my mum, so super excited for her to grow them -

5 out of 5 starsThis is a gorgeous handmade pillow cover. I am so pleased with just how lovely it looks. The wool is wonderful. I love the fact that you raise the sheep yourself. How rewarding! Thank you so much. (I need to get a proper pillow insert but I couldn't wait to use it!)

Shropshire sheep + Shropshire wool - Shropiesheep
I opened this shop so that I could share my love of the beautiful Shropshire Sheep. This love developed over 25 years of owning a small pedigree flock which we farmed sustainably in our lovely small-holding in the Shropshire Hills. Now retired from farming we have moved to a converted farmhouse in Wales where I can concentrate on promoting the use of wool with particular emphasis on wool from Shropshire Sheep.
When you buy my yarn or crafted goods, you know that the original fleeces all came from a single flock. The sheep were raised in an environmentally friendly manner where we always maintained a balance between our needs and the needs of the natural habitats around us. We used a minimum amount of chemicals only when absolutely necessary to maintain the health of our flock.
I selected fleeces from our yearling ewes and can trace each batch of yarn to specific animals. Our fleeces are spun at small mills within the UK. The coloured yarns are dyed at the mill or are naturally dyed by me.
I learned to knit as a child and taught myself to crochet as an adult. I take pride in items I create and hope that they give great pleasure to those who buy them. Each item is made by hand and has its own individual character! If you see something you like but would like a slightly different size or colour send me a message – I am happy to take custom orders.
My journey now has taken me in the direction of learning about dyeing my yarns with natural dyes – each batch surprises me and I love crafting with the results. I would encourage others to try and am happy to supply pre-mordanted yarn if this initial step puts you off. You may be surprised how easy it is to generate colours from the plants around you – in your garden, in the hedgerows or even in your fridge!

On our small-holding I kept a flock of Shropshire sheep and learned to love their wool. I learned to knit as a child and to crochet as an adult. I dye with natural plant materials. I love trying out new techniques and sharing the result.
