Fabrics, thread and slow stitch inspiration.

My name is Valerie Carr and my shop is all about inspiring creativity with fabric and thread.

I am a professional watercolour artist, of almost twenty years, with a long standing passion for fabric and creative sewing, especially slow stitch embroidery. I arrange colours and build up layers of textures by using different kinds of fabrics and threads and use creative, mindful embroidery to bring them all together.

After creating repeat patterns from my original watercolours, I digitally print them on to fabric, usually linen or voile. You will see sections of these fabrics in all of the slow stitch bundles which are for sale here on my Etsy shop. I absolutely love putting these slow stitch bundles together because curating the colours and textures is a very, very satisfying process. My preferred fabrics are silk, velvet and linen. When these fabrics are layered over quilt batting and embroidered, it gives a wonderful three dimensional effect, adding depth to the whole embroidery.

My fabrics are also available by the metre for other home interior projects at my website : threadandfold.com

My name is Valerie Carr and embroidery relaxes me. As soon as the needle is threaded and I start to stitch, it's like I've escaped from the world and I'm in a stitching cocoon. My shop is all about providing the tools for others to do the same.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy.

1. Personal information
To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order for example), if you contact me directly.

2. Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It
I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
• as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;

• if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
• as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
• Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
• Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.

However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

5. Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU
I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.

6. Your Rights
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
