I trained as a knitwear designer and worked enthusiastically within the manufacturing industry before having my two girls. During this career break I enjoyed the creative outlet of making mosaics, not a million miles away from designing knitwear as you first might think…finding inspiration, putting colours and trends together, creating pattern.

This quickly became an obsession, trawling charity shops and markets for interesting china and finding gifts of beautiful but broken crockery on my doorstep from passing friends. Having attended several workshops I began to create items and found success selling at craft fairs which in turn led to commissions, both large and small.

Currently, while pursuing my career as a mosaic artist, I also teach the subject to adults and children. I am based in Nottingham, UK.

My influences are drawn from folk art, mid-century décor and ceramics, other artists, nature and often simply the pattern and colour of the materials used to make the mosaic.

In mid 2014 I launched a range of jewellery and the demand at craft fairs, gift shops and galleries has led me to set up this Etsy shop as a new venture.
