Welcome to the world of Tatie Lou!
Creator of intricate patterned wallpapers and homewares, Tatie Lou was founded by Louise Wargnier in 2019. A print textile designer and expert in the Japanese art of shibori, as well as other hand-dyeing techniques, one day she was tempted to transfer her work to wallpaper, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Inspired by the brilliance of Mother Nature, the magic of India, and the beauty of ancient Japanese crafts, Louise designs a new Tatie Lou collection of original prints annually. Created through a mixture of shibori dyeing, hand and digital drawing, and painting, each signature print is digitised and transformed into a suite of different colourways before being applied to wallpapers, fabrics, cushions, and lampshades, as well as blankets and table linens.

I love sharing my passion for hand-printed and hand-dyed textiles. I studied Printed Textiles at Dundee University over 20 years ago, and I’ve travelled the world seeking inspiration for my original designs. My previous accessories brand featured in boutiques and department stores in London, Paris and Japan.
I’m always discovering new techniques, and my most recent collection explores the ancient Japanese art of Shibori. Each beautiful, one-off item of Shibori is created using naturally vibrant indigo dye and traditional binding and folding methods. The results are totally unique, every time.
