Handcrafted Stained and Fused Glass made in Oxfordshire

Oxford, England | 78 Sales

Announcement    LAST DATE FOR CHRISTMAS ORDERS IS 11TH DECEMBER

I am now settled in my new studio and it’s amazing. I have room to move which I didn’t really have before. It would have been wonderful to work from home, but with no room in the house, garden or garage, I had to rent an area and the fact that it’s ended up being in my beautiful village of Eynsham in Oxfordshire where I live, I am incredibly lucky.

I have my own working area and an area to teach as well as sell the work I create. I have also started to ask other quality handmakers to join me and sell from my premises.

At present I am experimenting with vases and wall art as well as running courses for beginner’s and intermediates in fused and stained glass. I also continue to make home décor, gifts and personalised items for customers.
My black Labrador puppy Dyson comes with me to work each day and keeps me Company.

Your items will still be made in Oxfordshire, YAY!

With news that the glass manufacturer's are having a tough time in the US with environmental issues, and having to install thousands of dollars worth of new equipment their costs have sky rocketted and of course their prices have now gone up too! It's good to hear that glass manufacturers are doing their bit to keep he environment safe.

My favourite stained glass manufacturer, Spectrum Glass, has ceased trading and I understand have been bought by Uroboros, another glass manufacturer, so we hope they will continue to make the glass we know and love using, as well as new colours and textures.

If you'd like to see updates on what does go on in my studio then please follow my facebook page www.facebook.com/rosartofglass.

Please look through my shop and if you like something, but prefer a different colour even shape, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will go out of my way to make you what you want.

Any requests or suggestions always welcome. I appreciate my customers and would like to hear from you. Constructive criticism welcome.

If you purchase an item and want it gift wrapped, please just ask, I am happy to do this. Just tell me what occasion so I wrap it in the appropriate paper.

Thanks so much for visiting my shop and for your support.

It all started with the wrong craft course!

I first discovered stained glass when I had booked my Mum and me on a weekend stained glass course thinking it was painting on glass, but it wasn't it was making a leaded light panel. My Mum made a lovely cat and I made a flower.

I enjoyed it so much I decided to carry on with an evening classes for several years held in my village by Sarah Glover. She was a fantastic teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

As a hobbyist I would make affordable items for the children to be able to spend their pocket money on at my son's school Christmas Fayres. Word got around and I made more and more items and they sold. I gained a fabulous commission for Abracadabra Restaurant in London for the late Dave West, where I made a 6' x 3' diamond patterned window with a cauldron design, another triangular diamond window panel and 40 diamond patterned candle holders.

I discovered Warm Glass years later and started teaching myself, but experimenting was costing me a small fortune in glass! I decided I should be taught properly and attended several courses by a professional and now absolutely enjoy working with both warm and stained glass and gained quite a few commissions. When personal events allowed me, I gave up my part-time job and decided to turn my hobby into a business.

In June 2014 I started Art of Glass Studio Limited. I am based in Eynsham nr Witney, Oxford.

I thoroughly enjoy working with glass and try to always do my best for my customers. I take great care when handling loved ones ashes and hair and make sure what I am making is exactly what you want. You are never pushed into any decision..

I have enjoyed working with glass for 20 years. I began making beautiful stained glass decorations for school Xmas fetes and gained commissions so I must have been doing something right! I started my own business in 2014. I work from home now.
