About

I bet she shops at the BlackCat Boutique...

The BlackCat Boutique is based in the Wild West of Cornwall, & has been trading for over a decade. Born from a love of old fashioned styles and music, we sell Vintage and Antique clothes of quality and objects of desire. Everything we stock is handpicked with love & an eye for the unusual, collectible & wearable.

Past items have been used for Film, Television and Theatre, including 'This Old Thing', the Channel 4 programme on vintage fashion presented by Dawn O'Porter, and in the book that accompanies the series.

In her other guise, the shop owner, Nina, can be heard playing records as part of the vintage vinyl DJ duo, The Funkin' Pussies. For updates on new stock (and daily tunes!) you can follow The BlackCat Boutique on Facebook and Instagram.

Returns and exchanges
I hope you will adore you new purchase, however, if there are any problems I offer full refunds - my Returns Policy is thus:

You can return your item up to 7 days from the day your order is delivered - I ask that you get in touch within 3 days of receipt of goods to let me know your intent. All items must be unworn, with any labels attatched, and returned in the same condition as they were sent. Until I receive your return, the item and its condition are your responsibility - I recommend using a traceable service and keeping proof of postage . The cost of returning goods lies with the customer.

Once I have received your returned item, I will send you an message letting you know they have arrived, and also again once your refund has been processed. Your refund will be credited back via the original method of payment within 7 days.

It goes without saying that all of my items, being vintage, will show minor signs of wear, as to be expected with textiles of age. I always strive to be honest when describing their condition and list any significant faults.

All items have been laundered where possible before shipping, either by hand washing or steam cleaning and airing.
Payment
I accept Paypal, Credit or Bank Debit Cards and Etsy Gift Cards.
Shipping
I aim to post out items within 3-4 working days, but if you're in a hurry please get in touch and I can arrange speedier dispatch.

Within the United Kingdom, I use a Royal Mail recorded service to insure guaranteed, tracked delivery.

For International orders I use Royal Mail international signed for Airsure service, which is trackable and provides a signature upon arrival.

Please note that any customs or import duties are born by the recipient of the parcel.

If you would like to use an economy postal service to reduce shipping costs this is not a problem, but please note that your item may not be insured to its full value.

I usually estimate shipping charges, and if I overcharge I always refund the difference, minus the packaging costs.

Please note that all packaging is carefully selected to be as eco as we can go! The tissue paper is recycled, packing is re-cycle able paper sacks and parcel tape is paper or polypropylene. Our postcards are printed using eco inks on recycled card.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions, problems or concerns with your order - I will always get back to you as soon as I can.

There are plenty of online resources demonstrating how to effectively take your measurements, but as a general rule, the bust is measured by running the tape around the fullest part (do not pull tight), for the waist, run the tape around and pull fairly tight, and the hip measurement is taken where the pelvic bone sticks out below the waist.
