Gorgeous hand made scented soy wax candles that won't break the bank.

Michael had worked all his life in the mining and heavy engineering industry but he took to being a full time chandler like a duck to water. Way back in 2014 he started experimenting with wax melts and then progressed onto candles as well. When friends and family started asking him to make candles and melts for them we decided to start a small business making and selling them.

Between us we decided that the business ethos would be to produce a well made scented soy wax candle for a very fair price in simple packaging. We wanted to get rid of the idea that only the expensive branded candles and those made by super pretentious small candle makers were any good.

Everything is tested by us, it can be very time consuming but we are proud of our products so it is worth it. For example when we bring a new fragrance to the shop it will have gone through the following tests. The fragrance has been picked by us, we then make up a batch of candles using soy wax and the new fragrance but each candle has a different wick. These are 'cured' for a week and then lit. A careful record is kept of how each candle burned. We take the best performing wicks and make up 'proper' candles and pass them onto our candle testers along with a record sheet. The testers burn the candles marking down on our sheets how they burnt, what the hot and cold throw was like and a whole load of information we like to have. From there we pick the best performing combination and make up the new fragrance ready to be sold to our customers. We test containers, wicks, wax, and fragrance, all combinations many times over.

We also ensure all our products carry the legally required labels not to frighten you but to give you the information the law says you need. Beware of the home fragrance makers who do not supply you with warning labels as, god forbid, there is a problem you have no way of knowing what was in the product.

The other thing we won't do is sell you a product stating that we use essential oils to scent it. Some of our candles (Aromatherapy Candles) are pure soy wax, cotton wick and essential oils - nothing more. The majority, though, are high quality cosmetic fragrance oils made for candle making. We have seen several makers claim to use essential oils when in fact they are using these candle fragrance oils. Nothing wrong with that, just don't con your customer by selling them as essential oils - they aren't.

We continue to add to the range we offer as we experiment with ideas, at the moment the latest addition is our hand rolled beeswax candles which we love. The ultimate in candle wax.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders

We list our time allowance for custom made candles as 1 to 2 week, however if we carry stock of the requested fragrance this will be as short as 3 to 4 days. Should we have to order the fragrance specially the time is dependant on the speed of our suppliers (usually they are brilliant) but realistically allow for 1 week before despatch.

Wholesale availability

We do wholesale and are more than willing to discuss requirements and cost .... just contact us to start the ball rolling.

Private Label

Due to the production process and our candles being 100% handmade we can offer our customers the option of having a customised label for their candle.......again just contact us for further information.
