Janet retired from mental health nursing in 2016 and designed The Knitter's Companion notebook which triggered a range of other books and accessories.

Hello, I have always loved knitting and when I retired from mental health nursing in December 2016, I had a list of things that I had always wanted to do. I attended workshops by Bev Hodgkinson to learn how to do fairisle and professional finishing techniques.
I went to yarn shows and met Marie Wallin and was inspired to knit her maple cardigan.
As I was knitting this beautiful pattern I made quite a few alterations. I changed all the colours but still used Rowan Felted Tweed. I changed the number of stitches so that it wasn't a blouson style. I knitted it longer in the body because I am tall.
Whilst doing these changes and adhering to the shaping instructions, I realised there was a need for a notebook with pages printed with numbers for rows and a space for instructions. The Knitter's Companion was designed to record progress as you work through your pattern.
This notebook is now one of a range including diaries, travel kits and a crochet version too!
To add interest to our shop we also design and make a range of project bags, needle and hook cases, stitchmarkers and gorgeous greeting cards which include a stitchmarker as an embellishment!
