About

Whatever You Want To Say, However You Want To Say It... #SayItWithLadySketch

One day I was sitting for a Christmas photo with my fiance and children, the next I was crammed into an MRI machine and being told the prognosis was bleak.

I spent a proper rubbish three years having an argument with Cancer and only just winning, thanks to the cleverness of the Stem Cell Transplant. As part of the long trip back into recovery I founded a community project, 'Who Gives A Rock,' anonymously dropping my hand painted pebbles all over Cornwall as gifts for the unsuspecting public. It became a success and we happily rocked our way through the next year, distributing more & more pebbles on a not-for-profit basis and amassing a merry band of loyal followers along the way.

For as long as I can remember I've been inspired by words and colour and soon enough I'd built up the confidence and mobility to start work on my biggest pebble yet - the wall in our garden. It began with a little quote and evolved into a large mural over the course of the summer. It is still work in progress, but has attracted a bit of attention, as did the signs I painted up for Mr Sketch's Festival themed birthday party. Soon the requests started coming in.

I'll never be fully mobile or have perfect health again, but there's a lovely old cornish phrase 'Still got my 'ead above ground,' and since I'm not supposed to be here, life is pretty sweet.

The return to reasonable health brings with it financial responsibility and at five years in remission, I have a young family requiring constant feeding and the odd PS3 game. A full time job outside of the home isn't a viable option for me so we thought, what if, just what if..... and along came Lady Sketch.

Thanks for stopping to look. Due to my constant deluge of random ideas and propensity to get bored, my inventory is ever changing. Why not FAVOURITE the shop for regular updates and FOLLOW us on the Socials.
