Announcement   My work is small in size and practical in functionality. Minty Mountain ceramics are hand thrown or hand built here in my small garden studio, and are mostly made to order. Minty Mountain ceramics is now merged with PIFF Pottery, PIFF is a hand built arm of Minty Mountain identified by its use of a specific set of colours.

I hand glaze each individual piece so it has it's own identity and is oozing with unique character

When buying handmade, please keep in mind each piece is perfectly imperfect and small handmade characteristics can often be found.

Mud Made Loveliness

Hello, I'm Emma and I am the owner of the hands behind Minty Mountain and PIFF Pottery.

Working from home and crafting in my mini studio shack I can often be found in the middle of a clay dust cloud in the early hours of the morning crafting away to the sounds of Simon and Garfunkel.

I enjoy what I do so much and supporters of small handmade businesses really are the nicest customer base to have. I take pride in my work and the unique finish I can offer. My work all starts out as a blob of white cold porcelain or earthenware, slowly shaping and applying a touch of personality with every brush stroke I manage to create something super lovely as an end result.

My daughter mini Minty Mountain is my biggest critic she dabbles in quality control occasionally and is also my unofficial clay nibbler, paint smudger and stamp stealer.

Accepted payment methods

I gladly accept returns and exchanges

I don't accept cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
I take great care to ensure that each of my pieces are accurately depicted in the photos and descriptions. However, please note on occasion some items may differ slightly due to each item being handmade and unique.

I hope that you love your product, but in the event that you find yourself unhappy with your new item I am happy to offer you a full refund (excluding postage fees), upon the agreement that the item is returned to me in its original condition and original packaging within 14 days of purchase. I reserve the right to refund your item, if it is not sent back to me in its original condition. Please keep this in mind when returning fragile items.

Personalised / custom made items : I send proof images of all my custom made personalised items, if you have proceeded with the order after receiving and agreeing to the proof the item will only be eligible for a refund if the item is damaged upon receipt. A replacement will be offered in the first instance and a refund if this is not accepted. To issue a refund (less postage fees) I will require a photograph of the damaged item.

To arrange a return please email me or message through etsy with your full name, email address, order date and order number including a description of the problem. I aim to get back to you within 48 hours.

Please note I do not accept returns, faulty goods or exchanges without prior agreement, so please ensure to email me first with the above information and wait for my response before sending a return.

Return postage is at the customer’s expense. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid for on your returning item, as I am unable to accept returns which do not adhere to this. I recommend that you obtain proof of postage and ideally recorded delivery for your returning item as I cannot be held responsible for items which do not reach me.

Please try to include a slip with your return containing your full name, order date and the name of the product you are returning to help me process and refund your order faster. However as returns are discussed in advance, don't worry if you forget or are unable to.

FAULTY ITEMS:
In the event of receiving an item you deem to be faulty, I would kindly ask that you email me within 7 days of receipt of purchase, with photos that clearly show the damaged item. A repair will be offered in the first instance on any damaged items. If a repair cannot be made, a replacement piece will be issued. If a replacement cannot be sent, I will offer you a full refund. Please be aware many of my ceramic pieces are individually made and often one off creations - a refund may be the only option I am able to offer in these cases.
Payment
Customs policies and import duties differ from country to country. Unfortunately, I will not know if items ordered by my customers will be subject to import duties, as they are only charged once the parcel reaches its destination country. If your parcel does incur an import charge, this must be paid for by you, the recipient of the parcel.

CANCELLATIONS:

Non personalised or non custom made items: I am happy to cancel and refund your order at any time providing it has not yet been shipped. Once it has been posted, it will be too late for me to do this. If you decide you want to cancel your order after it has been shipped please refer to the refund section for information on how to return you item for a refund.

Personalised / custom made orders: I do not offer a cancellation policy for any item that has been custom made or personalised, unless the cancellation is made before the item is made. I apply a certain level of discretion, if the item can be re-sold I am happy to accept cancellations. If the item is personalised beyond an alternative re-sale point I am not able to offer a refund.
Shipping
All UK orders are sent using Royal Mail Standard 1st and 2nd class services unless otherwise requested (this will incur an additional charge). I retain all postage receipts for proof of posting (confirmation of date and postcode). Please be aware, I do not send items 'tracked, recorded or signed for' unless it is specifically requested. The estimated delivery time is 1-4 working days using these services.

All International orders are sent using the Royal Mail Standard International service. I retain all postage receipts for proof of posting. (confirmation of postcode and posting date). Please be aware, I do not accept responsibility for 'lost' parcels. If you would like to have your item sent using a tracked service please checkout and select the shipping upgrade.

The estimated delivery time is 7-14 working days, this may increase during busy periods like Christmas or if there have been any postal / bank holidays & closures.

Please note: All listings have a processing turn around time in the shipping information tab. Please be sure to read this and factor that time frame into your estimated delivery date. Your delivery / arrival date will be the processing turnaround time and Royal Mail delivery time together.

Shipping costs may vary from items to item. Second class is more economical, allowing me to offer you lowest possible postage rate. The items I make are beautifully fragile, to ensure safe delivery of your item I invest a great deal of time and cost into ensuring their safety during transit. My postage charges cover 'postage and packaging'.

If for whatever reason you would like me to post your item sooner using a different service, please feel free to contact me and I will try my hardest. However, please be aware this may cost more.

After your order has been shipped, you will receive an email from me via Etsy to inform you your item is now on its way to you.

My operating hours are 10am-10pm Monday-Thursday. I am often working on orders during the weekend and do not spend much time online. It may take me a little longer to reply to inquiries if you message me during the weekend - please bear with me :)

I try to make my listings as comprehensive as I can in terms of finish, colour, design, materials and size. Please be sure to read the listing thoroughly. If you would like to know something about the item that i have not written in the listing just pop me a message.

Custom orders are always photographed and a photograph is sent to you before they are posted for confirmation the item as lovely as you had hoped.

I can make most of my items to order offering custom colour or design details. My custom items a have a longer turn around time so please keep that in mind. I can personalise most of my made to order items.
