I'm Kate. I'm an artist and a writer. I make things - mostly out of reclaimed fabric, but I also love to paint and write. And I could never choose which I loved most, so now I don't choose, I just do, as the mood takes me.
You can find me on Instagram where I take pretty pictures of mountainsides, meals and makes. I write for No Serial Number Magazine and will one day finish the novel I started when I was 15. I'm write a blog too, on WordPress, about my journey through self employed life and saving the planet. I love nature, and dry stone walls, paint under my fingernails, and standing with my bare feet on the land and my face to the sun. I love stories. The stories of people, the stories of stuff. I love the idea of carrying stories forward, and of birthing new stories that honor the old. Hippy or witch, maybe both.
Here on Etsy I make plastic free textile solutions to all your zero waste problems. I create heirloom patchwork quilts - commission me to make one for your family! I want to see us as a society, stepping away from synthetic fibres in our bedrooms and go back to the tried and tested ways of our ancestors - layers of quilts and blankets to suit the seasons. Everything I make uses recycled, refound, reclaimed materials, with my goal to make beautiful, functional objects and household textiles from materials which otherwise might have ended their life in landfill.
I promise to never, ever mass produce. I promise to stand for the planet and her people. I promise to remain quietly individual and a little bit quirky in everything I create, and to stay passionate about the issues that inspire me.

5 out of 5 starsExcellent Pattern with ideas not only to keep the cooking method low energy but also how to keep the project zero or very low waste and a make do and mend vibe that I absolutely love!!! Recommend looking as this not only for home use but also for hearty camping meals too, bring to boil and there you are. A marvel in the cost of living crisis age.
