Our Story
The Showing Up Project was born in a hospital waiting room.
When someone I love was diagnosed with a brain tumor, life as I knew it stopped. And in the middle of the hardest season of our lives, something unexpected happened — strangers showed up. Someone helped me on a flight. Someone sat with me. Someone remembered my coffee order and acknowledged my fear.
Those unorchestrated encounters changed me.
I started paying attention to what actually helped — and what didn't. I noticed that everyone showed up in the first week. The meals came, the cards came, the calls came. But by week six? Most people had moved back to their lives. And we were still in it.
That's when I knew I needed to create something.
The Showing Up Project is a collection of digital guides, printables and resources that teach people how to show up — with food, with presence, and with intention. Not just once. For the long haul.
Because showing up on week six matters more than day one.
Because when words fail — food shows up.
Because smiling at a stranger is medicine for both of your souls.
This is for every family sitting in a waiting room wondering if anyone remembers they're there.
They do. We do. That's why we're here.Show up. Always.
