Hello and welcome to Travel Outside the Box where adventure calls from under a flag and sets us on an adventure through a window.

I am Param. Just a girl born and raised in Ipswich to parents from India. Growing up heritage, especially Indian was important for us and part of everything we did. Now my two children have a dual heritage as I married their English father eight years ago.

My life experiences are varied but include working in the met police as an officer and detective. Downtime includes a love of exercise, especially hot yoga, and food. As well as travel and ethnic-inspired furniture.

All of these things combined have lead to this new adventure. And the birth of Travel-Outside-The-Box.

2020 gave us lots of things we didn’t want. But in making the most of that situation I invented travel boxes with/for my kids. Family members were doing cuisine nights. I started to think about how I could build on those and maybe help my kids expand their palate.

I came up with the idea to explore other countries, as a way to tie in food, and get us metaphorically out of the house. Because the world shut down we were bored. It started with a quick internet search, a few coloring pages and writing basic facts on our living room windows.

It was a simple and fun way to connect with the kids. A few weeks later it expanded to include music and food. Then dress up and then I realized we can’t be the only family missing travel. There must be others wanting to get out and explore. In any way possible.

Enter travel-outside-the-box. An immersive experience of exploration for you and your family. Learn about a country in a fun and simple way. I have put together this night full of memories for you. All you have to do is open and enjoy.
