Handweaver on the Isles of Scilly

My name is Trish Peacock and I live on St. Agnes on the Isles of Scilly (population approx 85). I handweave luxury scarves using a range carefully sourced British Wool and other natural fibres e.g. linen, banana.

I am a member of the Campaign for Wool.

I hold a small amount of stock and take commissions and orders, in specific colours, wools, sizes, fringing, etc. You can have a genuinely one off piece made for you.

Perfect to co-ordinate for different occasions, from weddings to everyday workwear.

A handwoven scarf, made for you, can transform an item of clothing as well as become a talking point!

I am really passionate about all the beautiful wool we produce here in the UK and am proud to be a partner with the Campaign for Wool.

There are very few sheep on the islands and no local wool so I work with some small UK suppliers:
Fyberspates - I use their glee lace with 45% silk and 55% British Blue Faced Leicester - a yarn with a lovely drape, shine and tremendous colours.
Hooligan Yarns who have a small flock of rescued sheep. Each yarn comes from a specific named sheep.
Wenselydale Long Wool Shop who have a beautiful range of natural and dyed wool that is totally based in Yorkshire (from sheep to dying and spinning).
Some small farms who produce their own wool e.g. Gam Farm Rare Breeds and Trebarvah Farm in Helston who have a small Shetland flock.
J C Rennie in Aberdeenshire - one of the oldest spinning mills in the UK - I have their extensive shade card to help you choose your perfect item.
I do orders in alternative fibres such as cotton and alpaca for those who can’t wear wool.

Please get in touch to create something specially for you - made to measure in the exact shade you wish.

I also offer workshops where you can have a go at weaving - book via www.eventbrite.co.uk or view on www.craftcourses.com where you can also buy vouchers.

I came into weaving through knitting and spinning and embrace free weaving style using my Saori looms and a Louet David multi shaft.
