I was at one of those 'crossroads' in life ....

Sewing has been my passion since childhood, from making my own and my family's clothes to home sewing projects. I can't think of anything I haven't made at some point.

One day when I was looking at the lingerie case, inherited from Grandmother, in the drawer I was reminded about the pleasure she, and now I, see in this brightly coloured treasure. She went through two world wars and The Great Depression, and I remember her telling me how special this beautiful object was to her, seeing it everyday uplifted her spirits.

I had the idea of making one for a wedding present. Everyone who saw the gift said "wow, you should make these for other people!" With my family's encouragement I set about creating Vee Pretty. My daughter said "Mum, why not make your shoe bags too". I love fine leather shoes, and around 30 years ago made my first padded shoe bags to protect them in suitcases whilst travelling. They are still going strong.

A friend thought the lingerie cases were too pretty to hide in a drawer and she would put one on the bed for decoration. This, and my husband's view than nothing should go on the bed unless it is useful, led to my designing the pillow nightdress case which is cunningly disguised as a cushion!
My daughter wanted a bag to hang in the wardrobe for hosiery, I thought this would work for corsets too as these cant be stored flat.

Next came a professional embroidery machine to personalise and embellish... and so the story continues!
