I started cross-stitching back in 2014, taught by the wonderful Jamie Chalmers (Mr X Stitch). I didn't realise at the time, but I was struggling with postnatal depression following the birth of my daughter, Violet. I quickly became hooked on the craft and began subconsciously using it as a mindfulness tool to help me relax and unwind after a challenging day.

I was quickly drawn to the subversive side of cross-stitch - the juxtaposition of naughty words and kitsch floral borders never fails to amuse me - and I soon started designing my own patterns.

Nice Cock, a bestseller, was one of my very first designs.

A short while after moving to Rugby, I started to sell some of my creations in a local gift shop called The Nest. It was fun to take commissions from there, stitch them up and drop them off. I love to take custom orders, I love the challenge. "I don't think you'll be able to cross-stitch this, but give it a go please" - challenge accepted! Nothing has defeated me yet!

As I get older and wiser, my creations have turned to feminism. Watching the way women are treated in the workplace, the Financial sacrifices we make as women, the assumptions we are faced with on a daily basis- it is everywhere! And so I started designing Feminist slogans in a traditional style - I love them, and it seems that you do too!

I love using floral patterns in my designs, and I love a beautiful colour palette with pretty pinks, sumptuous blues and greens, and bright reds. I love a little pop of yellow too.
