Having spent more years than we can care to remember working long hours and commuting long distances (albeit for a decent reward), we came to the conclusion in 2012 that we just couldn’t put it off anymore.

The time had come to sell up, buy a couple of backpacks and realise our joint burning desire to explore the world.

The inspiration came from Nicky who, in a rare moment of clarity (and after more than one glass of Sauvignon Blanc) piped up with the visionary, “Tell you what, why don’t we just sack the rat race and galavant around the world for a few years”?

And so off we went, in March 2015, on the first leg of our Big Trip around Asia, Australia and New Zealand, eyes wide open like a couple of eager kids fresh out of school. Only we’re a couple of mid-forties and fifty-somethings who should probably know better.

After a while, we started to share our experiences through our stories and photography on a new travel blog, which we called "Above Us Only Skies" - inspired by a lyric from the John Lennon song, "Imagine".

As we travelled further afield to North, Central and South America, and as our audience continued to grow, we began to receive enquiries from our readers who wanted to download copies of our photographs for their own use. We weren't able to provide that through our blog so we began to look for an alternative way to provide a full printing and digital download service.

Which was when we discovered Etsy.

And so we're proud to present Wall Art Creatives as a showcase for our photography from around the globe. All of the images we sell are our own and have been selected by us as ideal pieces of wall art for the home or office. And we'll continue to add to the collection as we backpack, road trip and housesit our way around the world.

Or at least, we will when the COVID-19 pandemic is finally brought under control.

In the meantime, please feel free to browse our collection. And perhaps you'll see something that might just remind you of a trip you once made. And which might look great hanging on your living room wall. Or indeed anywhere else that springs to mind.
