About WestmorlandSoaperie

Sales 611
On Etsy since 2018

I've been making soap for around 10 years, firstly just for me, family and friends, I was facinated by the alchemy of it, Each butter and oil gives a different quality to the soap, so when i decided to sell soap I spent a year making every combination of ingredients until I was happy with my formula, I researched the oils, butters and additives, many essential oils such as the citrus oils don't hold their scent in soap, some are banned from use or can only be used in tiny amounts, some petals look great at first but turn a murky brown as the soap cures, so there was a lot of experimenting.
The formula was sent off to a cosmetic chemist [which is a legal requirement] who approved it, and once I had registered with the EU [now UK] I was good to go.
I mainly sell on local Farmers Markets and special events.
Your parcel will most likely arrive in preloved packaging, collected from neighbours, not only is this more environmentally friendly it saves you and me the cost of new packaging.
A word on reviews, these are clearly wonderful for me, but may also help customers who haven't bought before to choose the right item so I am always grateful to people who take the time to write a review,
if you have any questions about my soaps or if you are thinking of selling your own soaps and have any questions about the regulations please feel free to message me,
