About WildMoor

Sales 31
On Etsy since 2018

As seen/featured in TATLER magazine! ‘The Inside Track’ in September 2019, ‘Tatler's Dream Home' October 2019 and ‘The Design Diary’ November 2019.

I owned a Gallery in Zambia for many years, and looked for wide open spaces upon returning to the UK after half a lifetime in Africa. A cottage on Dartmoor overlooking the wild moor - with endless horizons across the river to the open sea - is the perfect backdrop and inspiration for a textile artist to express the changing colours, moods and textures of this ancient landscape. Slow textiles, handmade to last.

I create one of a kind pieces of wearable art for you and for your home. Throws and table runners, shawls and wraps, scarves and cowls, bags and cushions... handspun from the wool of British and rare breed sheep and other beautiful natural fibres and handwoven on my floor loom.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders

I may be able to make similar items to order if I have the fibres available, but because these are handspun, hand dyed and handwoven it may not be possible to recreate the same colours. We can discuss your preferences.

These handmade items take a long time to make, and depend on being able to source the same or similar raw materials. The time also depends on my handspinning and weaving commitments.

Commission orders will necessarily be more expensive than stock items, usually by 50%.

Thank you.

Sizing details

Other width sizes can be ordered, depending on the width of my loom. The length can be changed with no problem as long as I am able to source the raw materials to make it.

Longer and wider weavings use more materials and take more time, so will necessarily be more expensive. A shorter weaving will cost less.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Please tell me if this is a special gift, and I will gladly gift wrap it for you...

Care instructions

Wool Washing Instructions:

Hand wash only in hand hot water with gentle soap or detergent, and without agitation. Allow it to soak, then gently lift out of the water. Place in similar temperature rinse water and soak again.

Sudden changes of temperature from hot to cold, and rubbing or agitation can cause the wool to felt or shrink.

Gently lift out of the rinse water, squeeze gently or run the gentle spin cycle in your washing machine (not the rinse cycle as too vigorous) to remove excess water. Do not wring, twist or put in the tumble dryer.

Hang to dry or dry flat away from direct heat. Steam or steam iron if necessary.
